Has there been a time in your life that you have feared carbs? Gone low-carb, keto, paleo? Carbs are NOT bad for you, sometimes it's just the type we choose that our bodies don't respond well to. Read the graphic attached and let me know your thoughts-can't wait to hear from you!

Yes, I have feared carbs before and I tried Keto because a friend of mine was so successful at it...... short term. However, I didn't lose weight on Keto and I knew I couldn't keep it up. I have always been more successful with eating balanced, with a deficit, in order to lose weight. I anak feel so much better with carbs. I too love sweet potatoes and those small potatoes. We just did up a batch of root veggies, baked them up. The beets were amazing!

Today's lesson is a simple reminder that protein isn't just about building muscle. After 40, protein plays an important role in maintaining strength, supporting recovery, promoting bone health, increasing satiety, and helping us age well. Small, consistent habits add up over time. Take a look at today's lesson below, and then I'd love to hear from you... Campus Question: What's your favorite healthy source of protein? Or... What's one way you try to include more protein in your day? I can't wait to read your responses! — Holly

Grilled chicken. We grill up 3 pounds work and then divide it up into 4 ounces and freeze.

@Holly Fields since my stomach bug, some things don't taste right and that includes our chicken. But I hope my taste buds return to normal. Most things do taste better if we're not cooking it!

One of the biggest reasons I created ASA is because I believe women over 40 can continue getting stronger, healthier, and more confident at any age. I’d love to know: What is one strength or health goal you are currently working toward? Maybe it’s: - Getting stronger in the gym - Building muscle - Improving consistency - Feeling better in your clothes - Having more energy Share below—I want to get to know everyone in this community!

Consistency and building/ maintaining muscle. I too want to agree well. Watching my step mom and MIL wilt after 70 has been hard to watch! I dint want to age like that. I want to live to be 105 years old.
How Consistent are YOU?
Check out my latest "short" and let me know your thoughts below!

I have been consistent. I've monitored my own consistency and see the impact! I had a great June for consistency in workouts, but July hit with a stomach bug that left me feeling awful. I'm starting lifting again tomorrow.

I'm Carrie. I live in Topeka, KS I'm working on consistency of daily habits... mainly lifting and steps. Id love to learn more about intuitive eating. That's a goal for me, but unsure if I'll ever be there. I'm also interested in losing fat, especially around my gut. (I know we can't spot reduce!) 🤣
