@Nautica Gay Hi and welcome to the community. I'm new here myself and trust and believe you will learn all those things from the course. The videos are very informative and there are current and past dispatchers on the platform that can help answer questions and give opinions. Everyone else is learning as they go, but it's friendly here so you shouldn't have any issues. Good luck with your journey!

Let me introduce myself to everyone
I would introduce myself to everyone in the community as I embark on another on another journey in the transportation industry. I drove a big rig for over 30 years. Until my health got bad. So now I'm wanting to sit on this side of the computer. It's always a pleasure to meet someone new in my travels.

I believe classroom said we wouldn't need an MC number to dispatch. I'm starting to recruit and guy is telling me need an MC?

@Bill Lippold I agree with William. You don’t really need one, but the video also mentioned once you get 5 trucks it might be harder to allocated freight. Does this guy know you’re an independent dispatcher? Perhaps he thinks you’re the carrier.

Video 6: The Money
Of course this was another great video! Not to sound greedy, but this was the video I was looking forward to seeing lol. I have some questions for you guys and I’m hoping to get your feedback. Who in here will charge less than 10% per load and why? Not judging, just curious. Do dispatchers get a percentage of the detention pay as well? What about when the broker reimburses the lumper fee? Your responses are valuable. Thank you! 😊

@William Blevins Forgive me, but what is o/o? I’m not familiar with some of the terminology yet. It sounds like it would be good money, but also don’t want to low-ball myself if I’m doing everything for the carrier.
