Introducing EngineerFest
Introducing EngineerFest, our biggest and best in-person event to date: Where? The Hideout Recording Studio, Las Vegas When? 10-12th Oct 2025 What is it? Three full days, over three different rooms, with three different experiences. Studio A - recording and mixing a band start to finish. Studio B - three full mixes over three days. Studio D - in-the-box production and Atmos. You get access to all the above with the regular ticket ($499) which we’ve never done before. This is the highest value event we’ve done yet, for the lowest price. There’s also the VIP ticket for those who want 1:1 help with their music and careers, as well as extra time with myself and the team. Why attend? In short: You’ll learn a ton and have fun doing it. There’s an X-factor about these events that’s hard to describe. You’ll likely look back on this trip as a pivotal moment. It’s worth it just to hang out with other TRE students. How do you get a ticket? All the info is here along with the links to purchase a ticket: https://courses.mastering.com/masterclass/1754482459982x303404295392103230?utm_source=FTMSkool Early bird pricing (10% off) ends August 31st. Nearly half the tickets have already gone and we’re expecting for this to sell out, so don’t wait. This will be our last event of 2025 and is the one not to miss. Look forward to meeting more of you!

Multiband Compression vs. Dynamic EQ?
I love the way Jake and Caleb teach and explain things. Was wondering if anyone knew if they had any videos on this topic. Or can anyone help explain the difference between multiband compression and dynamic EQ? And more importantly, when you would use each one?

@Jason Flaherty Because of the way each of those work, dynamic EQ is better used on more narrow/surgical bands and multiband compression is best used on larger bands (meaning larger frequency ranges). Notice FabFilter MB doesn't allow you to make each band very narrow. This is because when it becomes too narrow you're going to start getting weird artifacts etc because of the nature of Multiband and how it's processed.
Where can I hear some TRE members music?
I’d love to hear songs from the OG’s here. The VIPs tend to keep to themselves. Any success stories from TRE students making a career in music?

We have many student success stories. You can check out our Trust Pilot page for one. We also have a spotify channel, I'll have to get you a link. But here is a list off the top of my head of student accomplishment: many students not working part or full time from thier home studio, students working for Disney, Netflix, Atlantic Records, HBO, Warner Music, various large studios, students sho have worked with A list artists (credited), Grammy award winning artists, and nominated for Emmy's, students who have landed placements with companies such as Coke, caddilac, Intel, Toyota, airbnb, probably others I'm not thing of. We have 1500 students. But in reality success is up to you in TRE. You have access to a ton of resources, community. Mentorship and guidence, but you have to show up and do the work.

Seems they’re having issues with copyright claims when posting the remix on Instagram. Any way to fix this???

Yeah, you'd need permission to release there anywhere. The idea was practice not really releasing them.
So where is our friend Troy from the mastering event chat today??
Lets find him, help him out guys. aren't we all mixing mastering nerds? I've been hanging out here for about 6 months now. Amount of useful free info I learned in this community is absolutely insane including finding my best studying partners to hack all the top tricks everyday. So where is Troy? I would want same thing to happen to him💕 Troy drop a comment when you see this:)

@Troy Krusz takes a big person to say sorry. And honestly, don't stress, nothing but respect for you at this point. I totally understand people being sceptical these days about companies and their agendas. I'm super sceptical myself. I hope/think you see we are doing our best to be authentic. Keep coming and learning!
