Back from the dead and feeling behind...
Ok guys I'm feeling much better after a crazy few days, to recap I had the flu, one the worst I've experienced...I had a 103 fever for days and in the midst of that I had to help my friend and her 10 month old find a women and children's shelter to stay in, which is actually WAY harder than it should be it took 3 days and buying hotels rooms and calling people...anwayssss Taking my first "time off" from this whole art business journey that I started 8 weeks ago, feels weird and slightly stressful and I wanted to make a post amongst our little group here in case anyone feels the same. In our current climate there's a huge emphasis on social media, speed of growth, and consistency which I'm fine with!! It's how marketing works now and if you try to fight it you probably won't be successful. However...What I'm going to try very hard not to do is to let those "rules" takeover my life and define my self worth. This sounds DRAMATIC but I'm a very all or nothing individual, If I have streaks, I don't like to break them, If I have goals I usually do EVERYTHINGGGGG in my power to reach them. This is not always a good quality, especially in this instance because when days come up where I'm not able to post on my Socials or in this community, I feel I have failed, I lose motivation, I lose my rhythm and I feel like I'm "behind". So I had to remind myself that although I may be my own "boss", I don't actually have one!! THAT'S SO COOL!! Plus I'm pursuing my passion which NEWSFLASH -> I'm meant to enjoy it!!! If I'm behind I can apply for an extension and it will be approved, because I'm the only person I answer to right now. I hope someone else can relate to this, I'm excited to get back at it!!!

Fighting the flu 😭😭😭
Hi guys!! I just wanted to let ya know that I haven’t been active on here because I’m currently sick with the flu 😷 The weird thing about being your own boss is you feel bad when “calling out sick” haha. I’ll be back with updates on my print club journey soon!!!

HOLY ME TOO. I'm still not well but I can't really go missing for days sigh. So here I am~
I've done 17 test prints and am still confused 😅
Ok so I've tried editing on canva, photoshop, photoshop express, procreate and exporting on the canon printing app, I tried RGB but cmyk seems to be working better but I still don't have it down to a science. I've been doing a lot of research and I found out that a lot of people calibrate their monitors so they know what the colors are going to look like before they hit print....this makes sense to me since in order to get even semi accurate I have to turn my brightness alllll the way down on my monitor to try to envision what it's going to look like on paper, but its still a guessing game!! Do you guys calibrate your monitors? What programming works best for you?

I'm having flashbacks on my own experience 🤣 printing from different softwares give different results too. EG. The same image will have subtle color difference if you print them from WPS and Photoshop, for example. Calibration... That's too expensive for me so I never did it. The closest solution I had for that (but I never did it) was to have an iPad or basically an apple device because they say what you see in their screen is what you will see in print (minus brightness) I guess.

@Ría Suri Studio I have a 30% success in liking my own sketch. this took liek 30 minutes ಥ_ಥ it looks good for now but it will literally go 👎 when it gets lined.

I get that feeling... the numerous undos to get the barely acceptable lines இ௰இ
Please share Print Tips!!!
My printer came in!!! YAYYYY! I ended yup going with the Canon Pixma G620, and let me tell you, I have ALOT to learn... I dowloaded photoshop, set my dimensions, set to 300 DPI, uploaded my file, adjusted my colors, converted to profile, and then hit print....DISASTER!! The colors are all wrong, I thought I understood RGB and CMYK color profiles but turns out my brain is smooth in this department. AND learning photoshop seems like jumping from arithmetic to calculous... PLEASE SHARE TIPS!!!! 🎨🙏

I tried RGB vs CMYK printing before. The RGB one is the closest to what I want (aka og art colors)

This is all without tweaks and just slapped on the color profile Coz I don't have patience for color tweaking (primarily because I am indecisive and don't have aesthetics for colors).
