One of the biggest myths authors believe is:
👉 “If my book is good enough, the media will find me.” But media visibility rarely happens by accident. Most authors are waiting to be “discovered”…While the authors getting featured are actively: • Building relationships• Sharing bold perspectives • Positioning themselves as thought leaders • Showing up consistently online • Saying YES to opportunities before they feel ready Media doesn’t just amplify books. It amplifies conversations. And the authors who get featured are usually the ones already participating in the conversation happening in their industry, community, or movement. A question worth thinking about: 🧠 What conversation are YOU uniquely positioned to lead because of your story, expertise, or lived experience? Our newest Red Thread Publishing author @Reem Borrows was just featured in Awakened Magazine — and it’s a powerful reminder that opportunities grow when authors stop hiding and start contributing their voice publicly. Media opportunities are often created long before the feature itself. They start with: • One post • One relationship • One interview • One brave opinion • One willingness to be visible So here’s the real question: If someone were searching for voices in your space today…Would they find you? 👇 What’s ONE way you could increase your visibility this month as an author?

1️⃣ The “No Excuses” Writing Accountability System
❌Problem: People say they want to write a book, but life gets in the way. ✅ Solution: We create a structured accountability that keeps you writing, NO excuses. 📌 Strategy #1: The “Book Contract” Commitment: Sign Your BOOK Pledge: 1. Write this out by hand: “I will write my book this year. No more waiting.” 2. Sign it ✍️ 3. Post a pic of your Pledge in the comments.... 4. Put your copy somewhere you will see it 3x times a day. This works because **(Psychology hack: commitment increases follow-through.)**Here for the Win!🏆 Note about signing... ⁉️ ✍️ Create an ⭐Author AUTOGRAPH⭐.... how you will sign books... *** not how you sign contracts/cheques 🔖** This is for security & privacy. Also, get practicing autographing books so you are ready when asked. 📚

I published a press release for The Expectant Author through EIN Presswire… and WOW
— the messages are suddenly coming out of the woodwork! Since the release went live, I’ve received: offers to promote my book video trailer services Goodreads promotions “reader outreach” opportunities interview invitations marketing packages…and more. Some look legitimate. Some… not so much. For those of you who have launched a book or issued a press release: Did this happen to you too? How do you separate legitimate opportunities from scams or overpriced services? Are there any services you would recommend? What red flags do you watch for? I’d love to hear your experiences and advice before I start responding to everything landing in my inbox. Publishing a book is definitely an adventure! Ps. I have responded to a couple and they were indeed scams. One claimed to be an admin for a Goodreads list and turns out she was not.

yes, congratulations & beware. I think you read my recent article https://awakenedmagazine.com/they-are-preying-on-your-soul-sierra-melcher/ about author gaslighting.
Do you have a book trailer?
I’m considering having one created for The Expectant Author because I love how a great trailer can tell a powerful story and create emotion in such a short amount of time. If you have a book trailer, I’d love to see it! A few questions: Would you recommend creating one? Did it help promote your book or brand? Would you recommend the person or company who created it? Please drop the link to your trailer below, I’d love to check them out and get inspired! Thanks in advance!
