In Bali for?
I'm in Bali today to attend an in-person event hosted by Ali Abdaal. I debated whether it would even be worth taking the time and spending the money to attend. But my mission is to connect. To make friends. To get around people who are similar to me. Who understand the entrepreneurial struggle. Who understand the periods of loneliness that come with this path in life. Who get me.

No Phone. No Life?
I had an interesting experience this weekend where I left my phone in the room and decided to go to 7-Eleven to buy something. It was a fun exercise, but also made me realize something profound. I'm addicted to avoiding being alone with my thoughts. We've trained ourselves to fill every empty moment with content, notifications, something. When's the last time you were just... bored? Not productively bored, just existing without input?

[WELCOME] START HERE
Well, if you're new to the group, welcome! This is your starting point. This is what you're here for. I welcome you. The way this group works is for 100 days, I'd like you to commit to a single daily action. It could be an action related to one specific task, like: - Posting a video every day - Writing every day - Reaching out to clients every day - Creating something every day - Working on your art - Applying for a new job every day - Building your business - Building an app Or you may want to build a project where you have multiple things that you need to do to complete that project. Every single day, you work towards the completion of that project. For example, if you're launching a new product, make a list of all the things that you need to do. If it's 100 items, just try to get one item checked off each and every day. If one item takes longer than a day, then just post about it on those two, three, or four days, for however long it takes you to complete that task. The goal is not necessarily to complete the project but the daily action of at least doing something towards your major goal. To build consistency, resilience and the habit of actually doing the thing that's going to lead you to the end result every day. I feel like 100 days is more than enough to build a habit. Scientifically, it's something like 24 or 28 days. But I think 3 months or 100 days is a good enough time period. For me to do things in stints of 90 days or 100 days, and so I encourage you to pick something and post about it in the group. Once you've completed the daily action, come here to the group, post that you've completed it. If you made a video, link to the video. Hopefully this helps somebody and inspires people in the group to participate to encourage and support each other. Good luck. I'm looking forward to reading your posts and supporting you.

The Social Skill I Wish I Developed Earlier
On the theme of making friends and talking to strangers, the skill you're actually developing is learning to overcome the fear of rejection. Because it doesn't matter that you get rejected. It matters that you took a step. You took a bold move to act, to put yourself out there and be vulnerable. And the more you do it, the more confident you get, the more divorced you are from the outcome of being rejected. Of course, nobody likes to be rejected, but when you know that if somebody rejects you, the opportunity to connect with another person is just one more conversation away, just one interaction away. It actually doesn't matter that you were rejected the first time around.

Skipped a Day: On it Today
Something I used to struggle with a lot and I see other people struggling with as well is meeting new people. For me, when I'm in a good mood or when I'm in an environment that is conducive to meeting people, it's always easier. But I've also trained myself to put myself out there, to say hello to people in the elevator or in public, or just greeting people, trying to put a smile on their face, giving them a compliment. It makes me happy. Whether it makes them happy or not doesn't matter. Sometimes I shock people, sometimes I surprise people, but usually they're very happy that I've interacted in some way. How do you show up in the world? How would you like to show up in the world?
