What Are You Up To?
Now that Spring has officially begun with summer temperatures, what are y’all up to in your gardens? And what’s your favorite thing to see around your garden this time of year? Me I’m still slowly cleaning up the wind storm mess, finally putting down mulch around our garden beds that’s been sitting exposed dirt for 5 months (Got the mulch at Ewing if anyone’s curious. The delivery to Taft/Drake is 110$) and trying to decide on which berry bushes to add this year. So far I’m leaning toward another red currant and a blackberry. My favorite thing around the garden is the cherry blossoms buzzing with bees. It’s the bees knees… yeah alright I’ll see myself out.

@Jiri Karnos yes and no. They are outside but not necessarily in a garden plot. I did transplant my onions directly into the ground last spring from a big tub I had been growing them in for a few years and my chives are actually still in a container and probably have been for 6 or 7 years. Someone told me once that perennials won't overwinter in containers because there isn't enough insulation like they would get from being in the ground but these chives are so hardy, I've never had any trouble with them coming back. They are always right on the porch of whatever house I'm in for easy picking!! Such a great way to add a splash of color and fresh flavor to darn near anything savory your cooking. And the Egyptian walking onions are super hardy and really fun! They also don't spread like say mint or something aggressive. Its easy to harvest the little bulbs they produce on top and plant them where you want or gift them to a neighbor. If completely neglected though, they will spread, hence the name walking onions.

@Jiri Karnos so true!! I will say that my horseradish did not overwinter in the container so just like you said, always exceptions. Also, chives are great on scrambled eggs and I would go so far as saying that i love chives and eggs in any form! Omelette, egg salad, I'll even sprinkle some on a fried egg with toast! Could even be doing something as simple as a cup noodle or ramen and chives will instantly make it better! They are the chefs kiss for me 👌
Need seeds
Does anyone have extra seeds? My initial planting didn't work, so I've used the game. Got some great soil, a small indoor green house and lights. Now I need seeds. Also, where is a good place to buy seeds? Thanks everyone!

Out here in Western Nebraska, about 2 hours from the Fort, there is a biodynamic seed saving farm. I have had better luck with their tried and true varieties than a lot of what I get from the bigger companies out east. meadowlarkhearth.org is where you can shop online and they will ship for a fee I believe. Bit more expensive than the big box brands but the quality and hardiness is worth it in my opinion. Sounds like you have a great set up to get started, best wishes for a productive season!
Citrus trees indoors
I have several citrus that I have moderate results with. After watching the February video about coplanting, I'm thinking they are lonely. What underplanting would be good for my little trees? They vary is ages 12 years down to 6 years old (that does not relate to their sizes lol) I have Meyer lemon, a lime and a mandarin, they are in roughly 12-18 inch pots as they are still pretty small.

Great information and thoughts, thank you both for posting, I have a couple avocado and a lemon that are only a few years old so will absolutely be utilizing this information to help them start thriving instead of just surviving!!

@Christine Landon did you find the calendar in the app? I took a screenshot of April and it looks like there is an event on days with blue dots and if you click on those days, you can see more detailed event info.
