Hello Future Authors & UPDATES
HUGE SHOUTOUT goes to 🎉 @Angel Conway for leveling up to premium. She is very talented and is passionate about Self care and Crochet and she hosts a few different communities here on Skool. I had the opportunity to meet her at our Chicago IRL meetups along with @Steve Gast @Demetra Lambros @Jeff Baer and @MJ Berst @Angel - I am so excited to have you in some of our upcoming workshop calls and get you working toward your future author goals 📖. I also want to give a WARM WELCOME to our new members - @Pamela Lynch who you all will be hearing more about but she has an extensive background in publishing and she is now focusing on helping authors tap into their creativity and write their manuscripts. I am looking to get her on our calendar next month for an open writing workshop call. ❤️ Some of the other new members to join us are - @Poonam Sharma @Fernando Nogueira @Adam Richardson @Louis Derrick Sewell @Ai Latina @Melissa Bateman @Sarah Bluett @Sophie Jomain @Gale Bates @Dianna Taylor @Gwen Taylor @Jennifer Cahoon @Angel Gold If you are new here to your journey ➡️ START IN THE CLASSROOM go through the Future Author Energy mini course to get clear on your book idea. COMING SOON - I am actively working on building out a MINI LIBRARY using @Mona Weathers Skool directory as a way to spotlight books that members of this community have published. If you already have a published book please DM me and give me the link so that I can get this added in.

@Angel Conway I think that is all super awesome when I was younger I got into sewing with my grandma and let's just say puberty got a little zealous with me and I couldn't find a lot of clothes that fit me that were useful when I was in late junior high early high school so I had to make all my own clothes and I find creative projects that bring about something real in the world are the micro version of Construction which I also like a lot, I used to do construction million years ago and it's always cool to see the results of something you build in the world. I don't know how I managed to work on stuff that you can't really see anymore because there's just something beautiful about being able to see something you've created exist.

@Angel Conway they really should teach that still I don't know if they do that anymore... although I did have an experience where I accidentally have my finger in the wrong place. And impaled myself. I'm hoping I can help reverse my grandma's dementia a little bit so that we can do fun projects like that.
This Is What Happens When Your Book Goes Viral on TikTok
One thing I want everyone here to understand is just how much opportunity exists outside of Amazon when it comes to selling your books — and TikTok Shop is a big one right now. That’s why I invited a fellow author @Gwen Taylor into the community. Her journey is a real example of what’s possible when you treat your book like an asset instead of a one-time project. FOLLOW GWEN ON TIKTOK Gwen started on TikTok in 2025 with one clear goal: sell her book. We worked together on creating some video content, then she was able to get connected with a network of content creators. No complicated funnels. No huge audience. Just consistency and positioning. Then her book “The Burnt Out Bitch” went viral. She has sold close to 4,000 💰 copies directly on TikTok alone. What most people miss is the second-order effect: those TikTok sales didn’t just stay on TikTok. They boosted her visibility, credibility, and momentum — which then supercharged her Amazon sales as well. This is proof of something I say all the time: As an independent publisher, you are not limited to one platform. 📖 One book = an asset. 🏪 Multiple marketplaces. 🚀 Scalable opportunities. If you’ve been thinking too small about what your book can do, let this be your reminder that publishing is leverage — but only if you’re willing to use it. 👇Want to know more about what it takes to be successful on Tiktok shop?

@Krista Brea I think it's also very relatable because the things I'm going through right now with these databases and technology I feel like a BOB for sure! I'm going back to spreadsheets and Google Docs if things keep wanting to test me!!! I will throw this laptop through the wall. If today wants to act like Monday it's Friday. It's not Monday. This ain't happening to me. This is not part of my reality schema! lol. But yeah, seriously I'm having a special day!
Learning From a 4 Year Old
Watching my son learn how to read 📘 has been one of the most humbling things. He’s four, sounding out letters, piecing together words, celebrating the smallest wins. Reading is something we expect kids to learn. It’s built into the system. Publishing isn’t. Most adults were never taught how to publish a book. Some were never encouraged to write at all. Many second-guess themselves before they even get one sentence on the page. And that’s not a flaw — it’s a gap in education. The difference between people who publish and people who don’t isn’t talent. It’s a choice. A choice to learn. A choice to invest in yourself. A choice to keep improving instead of staying stuck. Just like reading, publishing is a skill. And skills can be learned at any age — if you’re willing to take action. 👉 If you’ve been sitting on a book idea and you’re ready to make this the year it actually happens, comment “BOOK” below and let’s take the first step together.

@Krista Brea that's really great for his social skills and if he gets into that kind of creative and face forward personality type market as a youngster that that's huge those are so many skills that many adults don't even have
Are You Taking Advantage of A+ Content?
One underused marketing opportunity I don’t see enough self-published authors taking advantage of is Amazon A+ Content. If you’re already publishing on KDP, this is something you can set up yourself—no ads, no extra fees, no fancy tools required. It lets you add visuals, comparisons, and expanded sections to your book’s product page, which helps readers understand the value of your book before they buy. Most authors stop at the cover and description, but A+ content gives you more real estate to tell your story, highlight who the book is for, and answer objections without being salesy. If I did a future training breaking down what to include, how to design it simply, and common mistakes to avoid, would you want that? Let me know in the comments below!

@Krista Brea this is awesome. I don't know when I'm gonna be ready to finish my book, but I wanna start it this year. I've got a bit of an uphill push when it comes to all the science stuff, but I'm not scared. I just need to coordinate more with my daughter's dad so he can take her for their winter break so I can work nonstop for a few days like I used to in college and then I'll catch up. lol.
