Help me out here!!
Okay my friends. You may or may not have noticed that there a couple of courses started in the classroom. I was just working on them in order of how I had organized them on an outline/ doc I wrote put but then my genius husband suggested I ask what you all would like to see the most. That way I'm putting out that stuff first or at least putting out the most of that. Let me know what you think! Also if you have a second fav let me know in the comments!

Deep Tissue
What is your relationship to deep tissue? How do you define it? Is it something you use in your practice?

I define deep tissue as working the deep tissue of the body. Whether it's the deeper levels of fascial, the deeper muscles under the other layers or promoting circulation around organs, what I'm doing in deep tissue targets more than just what's tight on the surface. And often that can be accomplished with the right techniques and without the "killing you nicely" kind of pressure. I’m not a fan of people saying "It hurts so good" but I understand it when they say "it's been hurting and you're finally getting it" in the way that you feel a sore muscle and rubbing on it just feels like you're working out the hurt. And I feel like those are two different things. But I do agree with you which is why I very explicitly define deep tissue on all my static public material and the first time anyone books deep tissue with me I explain what that means for me. I also have had people just keep saying "harder!" or "you can go as hard as you want". I just politely respond by letting them know that I have a lot of very specialized training that allows me to get really good results and that harder pressure can even be counter intuitive. I've never had anyone argue with that and they've always rebooked. But I also do a lot of injury recovery, scar mobilization, pre and post op or long-term pain people.
Making some changes
So I'm being brave and "eating the elephant" 🐘 of building out material in the classroom. I'm starting to build out the outline of what will be available and will provide content as I complete it. Rather than wait until it's perfect though, you'll get to see it as it's getting done. I'll start by publishing what I have now and will just keep things public even while I'm working on it. Please be patient and understand that I'm doing all this on top of working full time at a spa, running my own practice, building and managing marketing and still making time to be a mom to my 3 little girls. I'm sure there are people out there who can do it better but we're here to build a community, not paying for perfection. hope you guys like it and make suggestions!
