@Melissa Sanchez Good evening. Yes I finally got around to watching your first video on boundaries last night. I feel as though it provided a thorough overview of boundaries. One way to think of boundaries is that they’re almost comparable to your car’s dashboard which provides you with real time data specifically indicating how your equipment is performing. If and when any warning lights (deferred maintenance such as low tire pressure, check engine, low oil, etc) or just basic things such as you finding yourself being low on gas, temperature is running too hot, etc then you’re able to become awareness that you need to quite literally or proverbially “look under the hood” to take stock of what needs attention in your vehicle (metaphor for your life). Secondarily, I also view boundaries as a type of filtering settings when conducting a search query. That is, establishing what one is willing to tolerate and accept both in people’s primary relationship with themselves and others. Thank you once again for spearheading the creation of this top notch community where we are all free to learn, grow, share and evolve together. I personally feel as though despite the abundance of public service announcements broadcasting the important and only too truthful message that mental health matters, that there still remains a stigma about actually reaching out and going through the process and journey of asking and receiving whatever professional or non professional resources, assistance, and support that you might happen to be most in need of given your specific set of personal circumstances. Thank you once again for inviting me to join this wonderful community and I’m looking forward to engaging with your future content! :)
