Merry Christmas! 🎄🎅
This year has been a weird one. It’s been so hot here that Christmas totally snuck up on me, and I didn't really feel the Christmas vibes until it was here. That said, this year I’ve been able to have some of the most loving people around me, and I feel blessed to have such strong support systems & authentic relationships with great people in my life. I’m trying to take a little time to appreciate all the experiences (both good & bad) that have shaped my life into where I’m at today, and to be grateful for both of them. I’ve had lots of change this year, but I’m happy with the way things have played out in the long term, even if I might not have recognized that at the time. I’m getting a little wordy, but I have lots of love in my heart this year & I hope some of you are able to feel the same way despite how crazy life can be sometimes. I’m very grateful for all of you on here, as well as the people in my daily life who make small moments special. I hope everyone has a great Christmas / New Year / holiday season! Try to be nice to yourself. Much love, as always. - Jake

Merry Christmas! Happy holidays and happy new year Jake! Wishing you and your family all the best in the years to come. I am incredibly grateful to have crossed paths with you and for all the knowledge you’ve shared with everyone! Thankful for this space to learn and share our experiences, good or bad, there is something to learn from every situation in life. I am a firm believer in finding the positive in any situation, it’s always there for us to discover and grow from, even if it’s not apparent immediately. I look words to seeing all the updates here from everyone, this has been such a great space for us all to learn and grow from! Thank you!!
Bud Density - Dispensary vs. Home Grown
I am curious about the density of buds, specifically what contributes to the density of a bud. I have the same strain, one home grown and the other was bought at the dispensary. The seed I found originally and grew, came from this strain, this same dispensary, and same original grower Abundant Organics. The dispensary buds seem twice as dense as the buds I grew. Is there a way to make the buds more dense? Is this controlled in the flower process? The drying and curing process? Just curious if it’s a variable that can be controlled or if it’s just luck of the draw. The attached pics are of the strain, from the dispensary and from my grow. Also including a side by side. Seems to smoke the same and effects are the same, just different densities. Thanks for the help!

@Jake Hudecek wow! Thanks for the detailed answer, that’s a lot to think about. I am for sure happy with the out come of that grow. I’ll have to see how the clones I took turn out, they are going into week 3 of flower now. Interesting to see how all the little things make a difference in the final product. Thanks!
FOR SCIENCE.
So I’m only a few days into my cure after 13 day dry but for science we made a little Atomic Dog preroll with some Cartel Cargo kief. Both strains from Hooligan Automatics. CHEERS!!

@Jake Hudecek I haven’t tried mixing 3 but I for sure like mixing 2 different strains here and there. I’ll usually try and keep around 3 to 5 different strains on hand because I enjoy the variety and different effects. Looks like I’ll be mixing three soon because now I am curious!
I got Engaged 💍
Hey y’all, figured I’d share a little bit about what’s been going on in my life. I finally proposed to my lady (she’s great), and we both took a week off work for a trip over to California! We’re spending a few days in San Diego, and a few more near the LA area but I’ll be out of town until Dec 14/15th on our little vacation. It’s been a great trip so far, but I probably won’t be super active on here besides responding to people. If you happen to know about some cool stuff that I should check out while I’m here, let me know! Much love to everyone!

Mother Plant Maintenance
I am curious if there are some general rules of thumb for maintaining a mother plant. I have five clones that I kept from the 11 clones I took from the photoperiod I harvested about a month ago. I have three of them in a tent and they just got flipped to flower last weekend. The two others are each in their own 2x2 tents and I am planning on keeping one of them as a mother plant to clip more clones from. I have been watering and feeding them regularly and keeping them trimmed up so they aren’t growing bigger than the tents they are in. Taking off any leaves that don’t look great and just maintaining a stable environment for them. Generally, what do others do to maintain their mother plants? Any special tips or tricks to keep them health and happy? How long do people generally keep their mother plants? Thanks for the help and info!

@Jake Hudecek I started all the clones on July 13th, so almost 5 months. They weren’t getting a lot of attention the first 3 months, I was focusing on the two I had in flower and getting those harvested and out so I had more room for these. Thanks for the tip on keeping the light on a lower output. What do you typically keep your light at? Currently this on is at 60% or 65% of the lights max output. Makes sense to keep the vegging under control.

@Jake Hudecek nice! Great idea to keep a library like that. I am interested but I won’t have room for anymore until mid to late Feb.
