Most comic artists are trying to learn from YouTube or art courses that teach you HOW to draw but never teach you how to FINISH and PUBLISH a complete story. The problem with this is you end up with scattered skills but no actual finished work. You learn panel composition one day, character design the next, but you never connect the dots into a complete comic issue. This leads to years of "learning" with nothing to show for it. No comic in your hands. No story pitched to publishers. Just endless tutorials and half-finished sketches collecting dust. After teaching at a private art college where students specifically requested MORE of my classes, and publishing multiple comic issues professionally, here's what I'd do instead. The 90-Day Comic System This is because it gives you the COMPLETE roadmap—from the ideas in your head to a finished issue you can hold, pitch to publishers, or launch on Kickstarter. Not just drawing skills. The full storytelling structure, accountability, and step-by-step process to actually FINISH. Which leads to published work, confidence to create more, and the skills to eventually get paid for your art. Now, comic artists, you can think about it like this… Are you trying to collect more art tips and stay stuck in tutorial limbo? Or are you trying to hold your first published comic issue in your hands?

Should you still participate even if you’re in the learning stage of actually trying to create something as simple like a person. Just want to make sure that even if my art is hard to make out, should I still try and attempt this challenge. Or should I at least get the principles down with creating other things like buildings and land.
What is your dream for your art? 🤔
As I am working to develop content for 2026, I want to make sure its useful to you since you've taken the time to join this community. I have 1000 ideas of course but if they don't meet your artistic needs and desires that's not helpful, so what do you want to learn? What dreams do you have for your art? Do you want to continue improving your skills because you love doing everyday, or do you want to eventually have a career based on your art? Are you more interested in creating individual illustrations or are you more interested in learning how to create a comic/graphic novel? Are you struggling with the basics or are you needing more in-depth training on character design, scriptwriting, camera angles, etc.? Let me know if the comments below. There are NO wrong answers!

My dream is to create a story that actually change the way people do and think about everything. Really telling multiple stories through different perspectives and how different ideologies clash. While all that is happening the main story is still being told with amazing lore.
What's your biggest struggle with creating your first comic? 🤔
For me it was too many ideas. I had a series of "moments" but not a story. And I also felt like it had to be perfect from the get go which kept me from even starting.

My reasons are a multitude of reasons. I procrastinate a lot so when I actually try and draw and actually do some story boarding it doesn’t turn out the way I want it. Especially because I’m taking inspiration from the best of the best and applying it into one story. All I’m really trying to do is get the story all together and then draw it into perspective and making sure I’m hitting every theme while also showing the emotion through art.
