Exercise of the week
“Banded contrast / overspeed release jumps” The band resisted jumps increase neural drive and motor unit recruitment while also loading the Achilles and patellar tendon complex. Primes both the CNS and the elastic tissues The results: - Higher rate of force development (RFD) - Better use of stored elastic energy - A strong intent and coordination carryover to normal jumping This doesn’t really build strength or tendon capacity long-term by itself it improves EXPRESSION of power. Works best for advanced/ experienced athletes, low volume, early in a session, or as a neural primer.

Nice! Would you try this type of contrast jump with hex bar jumps/med ball jumps as well or do you prefer bands for contrast work? How many sets do you recommend?

I have an MFA in film directing so naturally what I’m doing is building a house by myself without any experience or skills.
