Desert Flowers
When you treat your desert garden to nutrients!! I put compost tea on them a week before this. (I gave them mushroom compost all along and they’ve done well but never this much blooming this late!! ). I think I usually prune them too early and this stops the bloom hormone. This year, a broken shoulder made me wait. I’m glad!!!

I’ll be glad when I can grow cannabis like this!
What do you want?
I've been thinking a lot about what direction I want to take things, and I want your help! My plan originally was to create this as a resource for growers to have / use whenever they have questions, or run into obstacles. I wanted to use the classroom section as a place to dump information & resources so that I had an easy direction to point people towards when they ask me questions. I originally was going to have it sectioned into different tiers, but I think I lean towards having a basics course for brand new people, and using the "Beginner's Cannabis" section almost like a canna-encyclopedia. I'm still continuing to work on those every day, but I want to get a little more hands-on. Information is great, but I want to find real reasons for people to show up here consistently. So that's where I'm at today. What do you want out of this Skool? Tell me your ideal world. If I could wave a magic wand and overnight grant you your wishes, what would you like to see? Drop me a comment or DM with whatever would bring you the most value personally, even if it's not realistic. In an ideal world, I could be in-person to check out every single person's garden & give tailored advice, support, and encouragement at any moment you desire. I'd love to be able to share clones of really special plants, and help show people those really unique experiences. Of course that's not possible, but I've found it to be a good brainstorming exercise for how I want to structure things. Help me out! I also want to hear from the experienced growers about what they value the most. I'd love to be able to share clones of really special plants, and help show people some really unique experiences. Legally, that gets pricy dicey pretty quick (especially in other states or countries). But forget about practicality, what would be your dream world? ---------------------------------------- There's a lot of possibility on this page, and I have enough experience & knowledge at this point that I feel very confident in my ability to help people succeed.

Thank you Jake!!! This Thanksgiving, one of the things and people I am thankful for is this class and YOU! The Skool app is great for reference! I like the idea of consultations. I am so grateful to you for spending your time to teach us. Thank you!!!
Terpenes
I like certain terpenes (linalool, limonene) and wondered how to increase these terpenes and how to increase CBN for sleep. I had always thought that Terpenes were part of plant metabolism but then I heard that Terpene packs can be added. I found an in depth article (on plant in general) on the Biosynthesis of Plant Terpenoids in public med. It came out May 2025 and has alot of in depth biochemical info which I had to skip but also has a lot of other interesting info about terpenes. PMC12114759. That led to another article about cytochrome P450 oxygenase, an enzyme that increases terpenes and that they are using bacteria and yeast to produce this. I am concerned that some industries are getting their terpenes synthetically through bacteria and yeast rather than through normal growth organic processes. I would like to know what is in the terpenes packs, and how it affects health. Would we know if we are buying flower at the dispensary if it contains synthetic terpenes? From what I read in the article (I am no expert and just learning how), plants develop terpenes in response to stress. It can be insect stress, light uva uvb stress, etc and that they develop terpenes as a protective response. The terpenes are antimicrobial and have other healthful properties. The terpenes carbon skeleton starts genetically and the environment leads to biochemical development. The stickiness on the female buds, is them trying to attract the male pollen which can be invisible and in the air or brought in in people’s hair or clothes. The smells are the terpenes. What about the terpenes in other products? I don’t want to just trust for profit industries to think about my health! I want organically grown terpenes! Natural! How can I tell if synthetic terpenes are added?
Why do you grow weed?
I've done a lot of thinking recently about why different people get into growing. For some, it's all about having access to affordable cannabis. Others it's all about pursuing quality. And for a surprisingly large chunk, they do it just for the fun of growing a cool plant that they used to not be able to (you'd actually be surprised how many people grow weed and don't consume it or do anything with it besides give it away). But I want to know, what makes YOU want to start growing? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For me personally, I've always had a mild interest in cannabis. When I started consuming for the first times it was just something fun to do and try out. Over time I got exposed to the crazy world of different strains with different smells, tastes, effects, etc and thought it was super cool how varied of an experience you can get, and how certain weed could be tailored for certain things. What really changed my view was getting exposed to some of the really high end cannabis . . . I'm talking weed that's sold for $500+ / oz and that's if you're even able to find it (it sells out remarkably quick from the growers / brokers). I still remember some of those batches of "special" weed that totally changed my perspective of what cannabis is, and what it can do. Some of the smells blew me away, and instantly had me recognize certain scents with things I've smelled previously in life in super specific ways. It's kind of hard to describe but I'm talking weed that smells like soggy fruit loops at the end of a cereal bowl. Not fresh fruit loops. Not fruit flavored smell. But identical to the end of that cereal bowl. It gets weirdly specific and it's really hard to describe, but if you've ever had a similar experience you'll understand what I mean. Something just clicks in your brain and brings back a memory. The taste was the same way. I realized that you can consume weed and not get that "shitty smoke taste" in your mouth (once again the only way I know how to describe it). I found myself constantly wanting to try more and the joint getting tastier the further down I got and sometimes changing flavor. This is a really hard one to understand as well unless you've had it, but there's some weed that can literally taste like candy and coats your mouth with that flavor.

Self sufficiency! Like sewing, canning, or having a vegetable garden—I want to know how to do it whether or not I choose to do it all the time. I enjoy high quality cannabis! It is good to have skills for life. It will be great to know how to grow! I’ve taken master gardener classes in another state but they don’t teach this yet. I’m a cannabis gourmet and I need skills to match my appetite!
