Greetings
Coach Stacey Foster here. I’m a high school athletic director and basketball coach in Montgomery, Alabama. I came here to continue my education in this beautiful game and learn some new things or new ways to improve my program. So far, so good!

@Frank Fogg Thank you. Adjustments made.
Culture question
I have an 8th grader that we invited to play on our JV last year. He accepted and played initially. When baseball season came around his dad had him quit mid season to play baseball. The player wants to play again next season. Should I let him back and if so is there a price to pay to get back in?

We have a handbook that parents and athletes have to read and sign.
Ball and Wall
In a recent episode of The Hours, Tyler mentioned that the most common feedback to new Lock Left Teams was "Ball and Wall." This really resonated with me (as we are one year into our LL journey). I have spent the last week or so asking questions regarding on ball defense and the best ways to coach this up. The two main takeaways that I have are (1) Good Stance [wide base and head below offense's head] and (2) Good Feet [Lateral running and defensive slides]. Now, the coaches that I talked with are not LL (yet), but I would add to that nose to right shoulder and feet angled to jail. So, what drills? We are currently using 1v1 Lock Left as prescribed here. Would this be our focus and just use it in games during practice? Thanks for all the help! https://youtu.be/Mt4ZPrZ73vs?si=TOWLiKcG5vWl1H5X
Blinding the Ball Left
What does this look like? I know the WOLF's responsibility; but positioning the TIGER (deny side) and and the SNIPER (gap side) is a little confusing. When bolting after a rebound, do we send the Wolf, Tiger, and Sniper to the Near Volleyball Attack Line or do we pick up players as soon as the possession changes?

@Joshua Oster Thank you for taking the time to type this up. We are outside the season atm, so I will have to look at this over our summer camp. Thank you!

@Mark Cascio thank you. Lock Left was my first ever purchase from SAVI almost 2 years ago. Still trying to find $ in my budget to do the membership. Our district is small and doesn't have funds available.
