Work-Life-Balance: Myth or Manageable?
So many clients state they want to be self-employed to stop working for other people and have a better work-life-balance. Sadly it is not as easy as it may seem, but if you can do it, life is amazing. Do you have any examples of success in your small business journey?

In my opinion of starting businesses and having sold a $100MM business, work life balance is a myth. There is only life and you have to make your priorities and go from there. Some things will fit others won't.
Honored to present today at Bridgewater State University
What a great turn out, at a sold out event for this government contracting summit. The group had great questions, and or an awesome audience. I thought seminar on proposal writing, and winning government contracts.

So far marketing to the right clients and finding the right marketing company has been my issue.

@Mark Lewis we know exactly who our clients are for each business. Just the cost per appointment is way too high for us. We are looking at hundreds of avenues to find a better way.
Learning about reading site plans an writing proposals
I’ve recently been getting more requests to submit proposals for scanning work. I’ve been learning to read site plans and schematics, which has been a steep but valuable learning curve. I’ve been watching videos and leaning on my field experience to figure out the time and resources each job will require. Where I’m still unsure is whether my proposals are hitting the mark. I’ve seen some examples online, but I’m not confident if mine are clear, complete, and presented in a way that decision-makers will take seriously. For those of you with experience reviewing or sending proposals, I’d appreciate any tips on what you look for when deciding whether to approve or accept a bid. What are the key points that make a proposal stand out to you? If you’re open to it, I’d be happy to send you a sample privately so you can give me feedback. Any advice from people who have been on either side of the process would be greatly appreciated.

@Jordan Monteiro most of these RFPs will have a "bid/proposal form" that you will need to fill out. Most government agencies have a form specifically for their entity.

The company I just sold we used Oracle it was a nightmare. Unless you are publicly traded or doing more than $20MM in revenue, QuickBooks is great.
