@John Read Wow, that’s really impressive. Ten years as a full-time author and seven years running the YouTube channel is a lot of experience. I’m sure you’ve learned a lot along the way. What made you decide to start the YouTube channel, and what would you say has been the biggest lesson from your journey so far?
Why Most Self-Published Books Never Make Sales 📚
Most self-published books fail not because the author is bad, but because the strategy is weak. Common mistakes include: • Choosing the wrong niche • Poor book covers • Weak titles & descriptions • No marketing strategy • Wrong keywords • Low-quality content • Giving up too early Self-publishing is more than just uploading a book you need the right strategy to attract readers and make sales. 🚀 What do you think is the biggest mistake beginners make in self-publishing? Have you ever tried publishing a book before? 👇

@Liora Vale I completely agree with you. Publishing is really just the beginning, and understanding the target audience can make a huge difference. From what I’ve seen, consistent marketing and building a genuine connection with the right readers seem to be some of the biggest factors in gaining traction. It’s also good that you’re learning the process before publishing. You can avoid a lot of mistakes that way. What type of book are you planning to publish? And are you already thinking about which platform or marketing strategy you want to use when you launch?

@Alicia Kendrick Yeah, that’s true. Sometimes authors are too close to their own work to notice the mistakes or weaknesses in it. That’s why getting honest feedback from other people can really help. Do you think having an editor or beta readers is important before publishing?

@Jack Slater yes I do thou
Why are you self publishing? 🤔
Is there a specific reason? Are you on a time crunch? Are you a bit of a control freak and need to do it yourself? Is it about the money potential?
