💰 Let’s talk money in this trade.
Nobody really talks about how much you can actually make installing garage doors — so I will. A solid tech in this industry can clear $60K–$100K+ a year as an employee and if you’re running your own installs or operating your own company? The ceiling is completely different. I’ve seen guys go from zero experience to making more than their friends with degrees — in under two years. And the demand isn’t slowing down. New construction, replacements, spring repairs, operator installs — there’s no shortage of work. Homeowners will always need garage doors. What most people don’t realize is this trade has one of the lowest barriers to entry of any skilled trade — but the pay doesn’t reflect that. If you know what you’re doing, you get paid like a specialist. So here’s my question for you 👇 Where are you at right now — employee, subcontractor, or business owner? And what’s your income goal in this trade? Drop it in the comments. No judgment — this is a safe space to talk numbers and get real about where you want to go.

I used to work for one of the large national companies for 10 years and as a technician in the early years, I started off making about $40k back in 2014 and when I left in early 2024 I was making over $125k a year. We now own our own business my wife and I and we have been going strong for just over two years now. Our first year in business we did $185k and our second year we did $299k. This year we are hoping to break $400k. We are currently on track to exceeding our goal this year.

🚀 We just hit 55 members — and 15 of you joined in the last 24 hours alone. That's not an ad. That's not paid traffic. That's word getting around that there's finally a place built for garage door techs who actually want to get better and get paid what they're worth. When I started in this industry in 2020, I had no road map. No community. No one breaking down the real process — just trial, error, and a lot of guessing. That's exactly why this exists now. To everyone who joined this week — welcome. You're early. Introduce yourself below: where are you at in the industry right now, and what's the #1 thing you want to get better at? I'll start! Let's build this thing together. 🔧 #trustedtechmethod

Hey guys, my name is Blake and I own my own garage door company (Golden Garage Door Solutions LLC) in central Florida. I’ve been in the industry for 12 years now and I used to work for one of the large national companies for 10 of those years. I branched off on my own so I can continue to take care of customers and put them first and show people they’re still good Customer Service and quality workmanship. The reason I joined this group is to see how other people do things and to get better ideas to see what could be beneficial to add to my process. I am a perfectionist and I have high-level expectations when it comes to doing the work and making sure it’s done right and most importantly Safe. I’m always looking to improve my installation process which I think I have dialed in pretty good, but I always like to be open to learning new things that could make me more efficient. I’m happy to be part of the group and I’m glad I found it.
