Thanks Dorn! Right back at ya
I need feedback
I'm working on a directory system and I need ideas for what you think should be on the front page. I would like people to go review it and tell me what i'm missing and what is broken. Think modular design that you toggle on and off. I also need ideas for the listings themselves and for functionality as it relates to content, formatting text, images etc. Anything you can think of nothing is too outside of the box (there never was a box except the ones we create). https://fishers.indianathrive.net/ I have 4 different basic layouts created. Modules I have are: 1. Hero Section The main banner at the top of the page. 2. Search Section The search bar and category filters. 3. Business Directory The main list of businesses. 4. Featured Events Carousel of upcoming featured events. 5. Owner Call-to-Action 6. Partner Call-to-Action 7. Newsletter Call-to-Action i'm adding: 1. featured business slider 2. some form of posting i.e. blog 3. deals and offers I'm also trying to make all content editable at least text. I also need to improve individual listing features and layout. I'm splitting the add your business form from the pricing page because I want businesses to add themselves without a pitch of any kind. When I get to a certain point I will need beta testers. Not quite there yet but soon if you want to beta let me know.

I like the clean look. 'way better than the SDI arrangement. (This is based on that, right?) I don't think the red color wash over the video adds much. Maybe a little lighter wash? Or another color that would enhance the natural colors of the cityscape. The appearance of the video's pause button in the middle of the copy gave me pause (no pun intended), but then it disappeared. I tried to pause it but it was inoperable, naturally. I like it, overall.
I'm working on the directory app
I'm redefining the directory app backend functions I have created the add your business and the submit an event functions on a new build you can see it here if you would be so kind as to add a business for testing i would appreciate it. https://preview-1781101845535531145.vibepreview.com/

Clicked Explore Businesses on front page; no reaction. Does user need to scroll down? If so, why show the button. If it refers to the businesses already found below when scrolling, a simple Down Arrow or the word "scroll" would help. Re coloration -- In my singularly humble and meaningless opinion, the red you used is TOO vibrant; I would go more toward a blood red like on our beautiful flag.

@Dorn Just Dorn Yeah, it's a good red, just hit my eyeballs hard. Like Kansas City Chiefs red. :) . That wasn't a criticism ... just a thought. Sorry if it was harsh.

Dorn's insights are not shallow. I've mentioned that some posts should be chapters in his own business building book. They're just as good as, if not better than, articles and book chapters I've read, and without BS.
5 steps to become more productive
Borrowed from somewhere lol Busy and productive are not the same thing. Most agency owners end every day exhausted but feel like they haven't moved forward at all. That's not a time problem. That's a focus problem. Here's how to fix it. 1. Use the Eisenhower Matrix. Separate what's urgent from what's important. Your biggest goals live in the "important but not urgent" box. That's where you need to spend more time. 2. Block focus time. Treat it like a client meeting. Non-negotiable. No interruptions. Deep work only. 3. Delegate and automate everything else. If someone else can do it, let them. Your time is too valuable for low-value tasks. 4. Review your week every Friday. Did your daily tasks this week actually contribute to your bigger goals? If not, reprioritise. 5. Break big goals into daily actions. A goal without a daily action is just a wish. Nobody is going to protect your time for you. That's your job.

@Shelley Ward absolutely, Shelley. I couldn't agree more. At 78, I am still starting new things because I figure, why not? What else would I do with my time? Sit and wait for it to end? Let's go!
