The Noise of the World
The world’s on fire in a three piece suit, Smiling on camera while it steals the truth. Kids learn fear before they learn grace, And nobody looks anybody in the face. Bombs fall somewhere every damn day, While strangers online just scroll away. Politicians argue, billionaires grin, And the poor keep paying for all of their sins. The oceans rise while the forests choke, Half the world’s starving, half numb from smoke. Everybody shouting, nobody hears, Drowning in outrage and recycled fears. We traded front porches for glowing screens, Lost ourselves somewhere inside machines. People want love but settle for likes, Building fake kingdoms from hashtags and hype. And still somehow, through all the mess, A tired mother gets her child dressed. A man walks his dog to survive one more day, A poet still sits down with something to say. Because chaos is loud But the human heart is stubborn too. It keeps lighting candles In storms it already knows It cannot control. And maybe that’s the miracle. Not that the world is sane But that some of us Still choose kindness anyway A pause, A breath By Jason Strickland

Beautiful and haunting words!
My Daughter, My Lovely
My daughter, my lovely, my sweet, sweet girl. My life changed forever when you entered this world a new sense of purpose rose up in my soul. I felt so accomplished taking on this new role. The happiness I felt just to smell your sweet skin, or the thrill we shared when each new skill'd begin. I've been deliberating, contemplating a perfect token. So you could experience the joy of which I have spoken. Here's a mirror that contains magic Galore For the vision you'll see, possesses so much more than the picture you're used to of your flawless skin. It reflects your beauty that shines from within Believe what I'm saying about this mirror which seems plain Look at your reflection, take your time while I explain Gaze in your eyes, see them sparkle and shine, how they see the best in others and beauty divine. Pay attention to your lip so expressive and pink, How they speak words of kindness and your thoughts, distinct Your hair? Your crowning glory, as it frames your face reminds me you're a princess filled with humility and grace. I could go on and on as my list has no end. So many qualities I've admired as your personality transcends. As you grow and mature and your dreams are all met, Know, I'm so proud and love you, dont ever forget.

what a sweet poem!
❓Question of the day ❓
If you all of the sudden lost everything you owned to a fire what's the first thing you would do.

@Faiza Writes Same! Feels like a natural response. Eventually you'd move forward but I think a time for grieving is in order
