My intro
Hi! I’m Becca in Tallahassee, FL. I just started Wildheart Farm and am hoping to start selling microgreens at farmers markets and via home delivery soon. Would love to expand to restaurants eventually, but another established grower in the area already has all the restaurants, so figured direct to consumer is the place to start.

@Cameron Steininger thanks, and you make some good points! Wow there’s a whole gang of us in FL! ☀️
Sigh!
Why do i loose ambition for growing after i start. Its gotta be all of the negative energy i get whenever i start. Wife says it will never work and everyone else says as many farms that are around if it was worth it then they would be doing it. Im not giving up but i feel no drive today for some reason. Also my sunnies are like dormant or something guess ill start a new batch until o get them right.

One of my good friends is an entrepreneurial superstar (different industry) and she gave me the best advice when I told her about my idea to grow microgreens and expressed my feelings that it was just a preliminary idea and I didn’t yet know if it would work out. She told me to change my mindset right away from not knowing IF it would work, to not yet knowing HOW I would MAKE it work. This mindset shift has been huge for me. My town has two successful growers who are well established. It scares me. 😂 but instead of wondering if my local market is over saturated, I stalked them hardcore to find out exactly what they were selling and who they are selling to. There’s enough room for all of us. I plan to occupy a different microgreens niche than they do (at least initially), and if that doesn’t work well then I will cross that bridge when I get there. Not enough demand? Create it! Talk to people at the farmers market and give free samples if allowed, place FB ads, etc. You don’t give up, but you pivot to a different strategy and make it work. That’s really hard though if your family isn’t supportive. Mine was skeptical at first, but once they saw how serious I was and I began educating them, became supportive. Might be helpful to show your wife the clip (on YouTube I think? From the last week or so?) where Mike breaks down how many customers you need to break various income ceilings, to show her it’s attainable.
