DEFINE THE DASH.
1955 – 2025 Two dates. One dash. When you die, those two dates will tell the world when you arrived and when you left. But they won't tell anyone how you lived. The dash in between? That's your life. And here's what troubles me. - So many people spend their entire lives preparing to live. - Working harder today so they can enjoy tomorrow. - Sacrificing another weekend. Missing another family occasion. - Postponing another adventure. Telling themselves: - "When the business gets bigger..." - "When I've made enough money..." - "When I retire..." But what if tomorrow never comes? I've met business owners who've spent 10, 20, 30, even 40 years building businesses that have become their prisons. - Millions in turnover. - Impressive offices. - Dozens of employees. - But no freedom. Some earn barely more than they could working for somebody else, except they carry all the risk, all the stress and all the responsibility. They own a business. But the business owns them. And the saddest part? They're so busy building a better future that they're missing the life they have today. I'm not suggesting you stop working hard, building wealth or having ambition. Quite the opposite: - Build something extraordinary. - Build something that gives you a life, not something that takes it away. - Build wealth, but make sure you have the time and freedom to enjoy it. Because success isn't just measured by how much money you accumulate. It's measured by what that money, time and freedom allow you to experience. The places you go. The people you love. The memories you make. The lives you change. Nobody knows how long their dash will be. But you do get to decide what you put into it. So stop waiting for retirement to start living. Stop confusing being busy with being successful. And stop sacrificing the one thing you can never earn back. Your time. One day, someone will write two dates with a little dash between them. Make damn sure that dash tells one hell of a story.

Barbara Corcoran on firing someone
"You can train skill. You can't train attitude." That's the lesson Barbara Corcoran learned while building one of New York's top real estate brokerages. When someone wasn't a cultural fit, she didn't overcomplicate it. The issue wasn't always performance. It was attitude. Because skill gaps can often be fixed. Training helps. Experience helps. Coaching helps. But a poor attitude is different. It spreads. One negative person can quietly lower standards, drain energy, and affect the people around them. That's why culture isn't built by what leaders say. It's built by what leaders tolerate. Of course, not every struggling employee has an attitude problem. Sometimes expectations are unclear. Sometimes the role is wrong. Sometimes people simply need support. The best leaders know the difference. They coach capability. But they protect culture. The lesson: Your standards become your culture. And what you allow today becomes what your team accepts tomorrow. https://youtube.com/shorts/mGuNhTnXQGU?is=f4zWvNojbTI2Yzmc

Hi Mik @Dr Mike Greene DL I will be joining but may be a bit late.
A win I wanted to share with this group
A little win I wanted to share with this group because I know so many of you have seen parts of the journey behind the scenes. Last night I won two Peterborough Top 100 Awards: Workplace Champion and Rising Star. I’m really proud of it, but more than anything it made me stop and reflect on how much has changed in a relatively short space of time. When I started Curiously Divergent, I had a big vision for what I wanted to build, but I definitely didn’t have every part of the plan figured out. The ambition has always been bigger than just running a consultancy. I want to build a neurodivergent support hub that brings together practical support for individuals and families, alongside work with employers, schools and community organisations. Over the last year, that idea has started to become something much more tangible. We’ve grown the team, secured new contracts, built new partnerships, expanded our services and started moving much closer towards that bigger vision. There have also been plenty of difficult moments, uncomfortable decisions and lessons I probably wouldn’t have chosen to learn in quite the way I did. That’s one of the reasons I really value being part of this group. Having access to Mike’s mentoring, and being surrounded by people who are building, growing, questioning things and sharing what they’ve learnt, has helped me think much more strategically about where I’m taking the business rather than just focusing on what needs doing today. I’m still very much in the building stage, and I know there is a lot more to learn, but winning Rising Star and Workplace Champion felt like a really lovely marker of the progress so far. So I wanted to share the win here and also say thank you. The advice, conversations, challenges and encouragement in this group genuinely do make a difference. Now back to building the next stage.

Well done @Katie Humphrey and many congratulations!!!!!!!
Thank you 🙏 Mike and Jules for a wonderful afternoon!
What a wonderful afternoon in and amongst the community, thank you so much to @Dr Mike Greene DL and Jules for a fantastic time! The food, music and company was outstanding and so pleased just to chill out for the afternoon, talking to a large number of the guests, sorry if I didn’t get to say hello! @Debbie Dorans was on fine form, even playing rounders with my crutch which was highly amusing, and @Jeff Dorans subtly mentioned Debs is a pansy killer! I am sure there is more to the story, but let’s just say it were right funny! The team is shaping up nicely, with five confirmed for the Peterborough Half Marathon, @Betsy Wong @Dr Mike Greene DL @Godfrey Muneri @Debbie Dorans @Daron Harvey and me @Scott Dwyer , and we have a combined Just Giving page for Little Miracles and we are 10% of the £2,000 target 🎯 If you would like to promote your company on my shirt for the day then let me know and kindly for a donation to the charity, your company logo can be on the shirt and then on your socials! I will send Mike the sheet, and he mentioned he will post out, in the meantime the link is here - https://www.justgiving.com/page/scott-dwyer-2026?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL Great to see everyone! @Samit Hathi @Sam Davis @Katie Humphrey @Kate Ashley-Norman @Neville Wright @Ian Brent @Howard St John smith you were funny man, and if you ever try to steal my wheels off my wheelchair ♿️ again you will be in trouble. Oh and you wanted my tie, tell you what, I will swap you my tie for a week in Bali, how does that sound? 😎🤣🙏👊👍
