Week one discussion for Business
So the prompt is as follows, Describe a situation where solving one person’s problem made things harder for someone else. How should an early founder or manager decide value claims to prioritize? This is an excellent discussion topic for the first week given the MGMT 101 topics for week one! I’m glad to see they have it tailored to the week and it’s not something barely touching the coursework and asking us to tie it all into our learning materials. For anyone else who may be in the business pathway do you have anything you’ve felt was difficult to learn so far? Or has everything felt like common sense? Personally all my MANY years of customer service experience have made these first lessons feel easier.

@Rebecca Ekiert Yes I love that the educational content is actually direct and not filler! That felt very refreshing and it’s delightful not to have time wasters

@Rebecca Ekiert yes it’s been fantastic because I have a business model I’ve been working on so I plugged that information in and it’s been using that for me!
Student email update
So I started the sixth, got the confirmation email on the seventh about getting my student email, and it’s already logged into the tablet I’m using currently for class! So far it works just fine. Is anyone else already using theirs?

April 6th Start date
Who else is starting in the April 6th Cohort? What degree(s) are you going for and what are you most excited for? I am going for AAS in Business Administration- Entrepreneurship & Innovation followed by a Bachelor's in Computer Science with a business focus. I am most excited for this experience as it is a new concept of learning/schooling and the growth that will come not just with myself but my business as well. Starting over is exciting and knowing that I am being an amazing role model for my children is a great feeling. By showing them it's never to late to better yourself in education and with a great partner anything is possible. My husband will be along side me with the first two years for the AAS and when we start our bachelor's we will be going in different paths. Here to the start of something amazing congratulations to everyone accepted and I hope this journey is as incredible as you are!

More Laptop Conversation
Apparently Maestro is no longer providing MacBook Air M4. They have pivoted to the MacBook Neo, which I am definitely concerned about. If you aren’t aware, the Neo uses the A18 chip and base model only provides 8gb of ram. This is less than what’s in my IPhone 17 pro max. Kind of disappointed as this is clearly a money saving initiative. The MacBook Air was perfect for what we are doing in regard to specs and cost to the university. Maybe I’m overreacting, but I don’t feel great about this. Let’s use this thread to chat once we start receiving our computers and maybe share what we are doing to make up for the lack of specs.

I’m not in the coding program but I am in a business management and financial program so I’m wondering how well this different device will handle the program load needed for my path?

@Jordan Allison I’m hoping so, it doesn’t seem like it should be a *bad* fit by any means, but I am concerned for others in the engineering/coding pathways. I don’t want someone to be in the middle of a line of code and suddenly crash or freeze and the student lose progress. Thats going to be extremely frustrating and discouraging
