Excited to Join This Community
Just joined the College-Bound Family Society and I’m really grateful for the warm welcome As someone looking to better understand the college prep journey, I really appreciate how structured and supportive this space is especially for parents navigating this for the first time. Looking forward to learning, asking questions, and growing alongside everyone here. For parents further along this path what’s the one thing you wish you knew earlier about preparing for college? 👇

Welcome Ash! I had no idea that parents are having their children preparing in 9th or 10th grade. But I also think that may stress kids out and push them into not wanting to go to college. They still need the time to grow up and learn who they are first. I could have started preparing myself for all this! Definitely a lot different from when I went to college!
New Month, New Wins! What's Your Goal?
Happy New Month everyone, Wishing you all a month full of progress, opportunities, and lots of wins. I'm curious what's the one goal you're focused on achieving this month? Drop it below I'd love to see what everyone is working toward and cheer each other on. Let's make this month count.

We are working through the essay, SAT prep, common app, and visiting 4 campuses. It’s a packed month for us!
🎉 Exciting News, College-Bound Families!
Our community has a new name! After much thought, I've decided to rename our community to College-Bound Family Society. Why the change? First, we all share a common goal: helping students successfully navigate the journey to college and thrive once they get there. Second, parents are not the only people supporting students along the way. Many scholars are encouraged and guided by grandparents, aunts, uncles, older siblings, guardians, mentors, and other caring adults. Families come in all forms, sizes, and relationships. Because of that, I wanted our community name to better reflect the people who show up every day to support a student's future. The College-Bound Family Society is a place for every family member and supporter helping a student prepare for college, apply with confidence, find scholarships, and succeed after enrollment. Thank you for being part of this growing community. The name may be changing, but our mission remains the same: helping families navigate the college journey with confidence. 💙 Welcome to the College-Bound Family Society!

Parents: How Are You Using Summer For College Prep
Summer is real should be slower and balanced, but do not put all college prep activities on the shelf for two months. What are you supporting your scholar in doing for college prep this summer? Some suggestions: they should keep reading (it does not matter what, just read), join a book club or read a book together as a family and discuss it, explore interests or get in some community service, start looking at college interest, or even begin building the list for 10th and 11th graders, and look for ways to encourage their responsibility and independence tasks or behaviors

Well - I am driving my Senior nuts! College list is almost complete; essay almost started; most local campus visits scheduled; scholarships well working on that bc of course the easiest way is to hit the "apply now" and not have to do an essay! I think the hardest part for me is that I had no idea how competitive this has become - so we are all competing to pay very large amounts of money! UGH!
Whose scholar just finished 11th grade?
I want to hear from you. How many Class of 2027 parents do we have in the Society?
