Hi everyone, Nice to be here, looking around, get inspired. I started painting after I lost my job, almost ten years ago. I started first as a freelance trainer in softskills, but to desentisise after a day with trainees, I started painting. I immediately fell in love with birds. They express a feeling of freedom, the freedom I needed to start feeling again. The activity of training took a backseat after a while. I painted more and more. My expertise: realistic birds on vintage bookpages or musicscores. I use to say: everything is canvas. So I’m trying to do more and more murals too. I was always such a fan of murals. I walk miles to see them when citytripping. So I’m really grateful now I can make others happy with my birds immediately on their walls in or outside their homes😊
Pricing!? How much do you ask? 💰
Tell me about your art! 🎨 What do you charge, and for what size? Are you working in oils or acrylics? On paper or canvas? And have you already made some sales? Let’s learn from each other 💪🏼

I’m aquarellist. I paint especially birds on old bookpages. It’s miniature art. I still experiment with prices. But it goes never over €150. I do sell greeting cards and prints on the side (with this mix I earn more on an original, than only selling the painting) Doing murals too. Want to grow into that more. I’m still figuring out how to price it properly. Square m2 pricing isn’t always adequate for me because sometimes the area is not so big. Because I’m such a detailed painter, my murals are mostly a branch of a tree with 3 or 5 birds on it. I count per bird and the extra work for the branch. But still then I notice hesitation with clients when I want to jump over €500. Only this year someone annulated his 250€ mural (2 birds and some green decoration) because of other costs: a need to go on a trip😱 and someone else who thought my €300 for 3 birds was too expensive. I would have had to travel 180 km for it, so I didn’t regret it. I like the idea to have a minimum price for a mural, whatever the amount of birds or the size of it. Food for thought.
