How we heal (and how we block it)
What is healing, and how do we get sick in the first place? Yesterday in the hang-out we were speaking about healing. How YOU are the only one who can heal yourself. And the healer solely holds the space to heal. We don't fix others. Fully trusting in the self-healing capacities of the body! That's taking responsibility! And at the same time, as a healer, it's giving lots of clarity on our role. In the Reiki 1 course @Justin Peach explains how we tend to avoid feelings.. Habits that can lead to stagnant energy/ sickness. Very recognisable (yes, maybe I felt a bit called out 🤓) and very human. It can feel pretty comforting losing yourself in social media or a good movie. Losing awareness, not breathing deeply. It takes work to allow energy to flow! Personally I do think there's a time and a place for everything and this does not have to be constant, just giving myself some slack here.. (what do you think?) So I'm curious, what are your ways of not-feeling? And how do you ensure you go back to consciousness?

Oh my god this is so true. i was hiding in everything i did and it helped me to come where i am today. I have reached so many things from my black belts in karate to a whole cabinet full of prices in ballroomdancing. Becoming an instructor trainer in diving and a projectmanager as a job. So yeah my old beliefs have helped me out a lot but during my burn-out i have found out that i worked from one goal to the next just to hide from my feelings. I have found out that this believe of me having to become the best in everything i do wasn't helpfull anymore and i didn't have to be on a constant journey from one goal to the next because my next goal would make me happy when i reached it. Now i know that it is just a trick of the mind :) So my next goal was to live without a goal and it worked. Now i allow myself to reach a next goal or not, doesn't matter anymore because now it's not about who i am anymore but more what i want.

@Fardau Jansma That's the nice thing. Having to have a purpose is in a way also ego mind in my opinion. That you have to deserve the fact of just being present.
🌟 Ethical Dilemma in Reiki: Seeking Permission from the Higher Self? 🌟
In Reiki practice, we are taught to always respect free will and obtain explicit consent before offering healing. But what happens when someone is unconscious, resistant, or unaware of Reiki’s benefits? Some Reiki traditions believe that in such cases, we can ask the recipient’s higher self for permission to send healing energy. This approach is often found in Angelic Reiki, Shamanic Reiki, and Esoteric traditions, where the belief is that the higher self always knows what is best for the individual. However, traditional Usui Reiki and professional organizations (such as IARP, UK Reiki Federation) emphasize that healing should only be given with direct physical consent, arguing that: 🔹 Respect for free will is a fundamental principle. 🔹 The practitioner’s perception of the higher self may not always be accurate. 🔹 Reiki should never be imposed, even with good intentions. ✨ What do you think? Should Reiki practitioners seek approval from the higher self when physical consent isn’t possible? Or should we always honor the person’s conscious decision? Let’s discuss! 🌀💬

Hi George, like we discussed yesterday physical consent is really important. Your intuition might interpret the higher self of the other person in a wrong way. So don't let ego get in the way here. It is not up to you to heal someone. You are only creating a space/opportunity where someone can heal them selves with the energy of the universe which is not your own energy.

Thats the hard part, we will come across people who we think/ feel could use some Reiki. And if their higher self needs us they will come to us. Just trust the process. Like said we are not healers, we are people that happen to have the ability to help others. A safe haven where people can come to by themselves. That's how the universe works not the other way around.
A nice discussion yesterday during the hang-out, what do you think?
So yesterday during the hang-out, i brought up something that came to my mind several days before the hang-out. As we all know the universal energy comes in through the crown chakra en flows trough the heart chakra into the arms and goes out through the hands to the person that you're giving a treatment right? So in a way you could say this is some kind of closed circuit right? (sorry i am educated in electronics, i think that's why this came up to me 😂) So what if you have only one arm? Then there is no circuit. What are your thougths on this? And then the next question came up. What if somebody who lost a limb feels pain (phantom pain) would Reiki also work in this case? I am very intersted in your opinions on this.

The outcome in the hang-out was somewhat the same. The conclusion was that it is all about the intention. I think Diane Stein also writes about this in her book that you could also give Reiki with your feet. Just set the intention and go.
