I used to get so upset at seeing how much the school system negatively affected a child's self esteem and self belief and didn't value the individual needs and interests of the students . Val and i worked down the hall from each other at a local school and would often comment to each other about, " When we have our our school things would look so much different ".In between all of that covid happened..... I Took my own teenagers out of school during this time focused on their innate interests and hobbies and watched them flourish emotionally , socially and academically. It was then that i realised the value and importance of Project Based Learning / experiential learning and life skills and the positive impact that this has in building a child's resilience , empowerment and self esteem.

In my 20 's i travelled around the world for 4 1/2 years.... My favourite spots were Dahab in Eygpt where we did lots of night diving and Kapadoccia In Turkey where we lived in caves, and hung out with the locals. The people and cultures were amazing . ..... made me realise how fortunate we are in Aussie.
