What's happening IRL
Hi all! I know I just threw out a bunch of new posts this morning. I've been missing being more active in here and finally had the time to get back in. In fact, I have been so engrossed that it is 11 am EST and I am still sitting here in my bathrobe happily typing away thinking about personality and color. With a slight break to discuss S corps and estimated taxes with my new tax accountant. I'm hoping to get some time today to continue my Personality Hacker's Profiler training modules. If so, I am sure I will be back posting about some new "a ha" moment in share here. Let me know what your IRL looks like right now!

@Virginia Schobel 😂 I’ve been getting dressed almost as soon as I get up, but not today. Healing feels exhausting some days!

@Kiersten Emmi I’m 6 weeks out from knee replacement tomorrow and literally EVERYONE says that’s a turning point. This last week was really discouraging because I was in more pain than I had been. BUT today when I first put my foot on the floor I had so much less pain. I made it to church and left my walker in the car. We meet under a tent in the summer and I didn’t have to walk far. My ice at church plan worked and we went out for lunch after church! My first outing. I’m so thankful. I slept better last night than I have since surgery and I’m wondering how big a factor that is. Thanks for checking. It will be 3-6 months, maybe more for healing to happen. I’ve got PT scheduled into August.
Favorite Color to Wear?
Hi all! Slowing down today and, for those that know their best color attributes, thought it would be fun to share out favorite color to wear. Share your season or tonal combination and a swatch of your favorite color. I will go first. As a Dark Autumn who can borrow from Deep Winter, my favorite color to wear is a burnt orange. And yes, this is a proof point towards the idea you often subconsciously already know your "season." Burnt orange is a deep, warm shade that combines the vibrancy of orange with a subtle infusion of brown, giving it a rich, earthy quality. It's positioned in the red-orange side of the color wheel, exuding a sense of energy and enthusiasm while maintaining a cozy and inviting feel. https://www.figma.com/colors/burnt-orange/

@Virginia Schobel our daughter told me years ago (pre color analysis) that I should only wear blue. My closet is probably 60% blue.

@Virginia Schobel it’s the FUN component I need! I like all the classic prints. I think the shirt with the skort is the only floral I have, but I really like it.
My Last Day Was Harder Than I Expected
I went quiet last week and I owe you a quick explanation for that. Last Friday was my last day in my corporate job. Twenty-plus years in pharma market research, and nine with my most recent company/team. I am only 52 but decided to take the big jump into the unknown. The unknown, while a bit scary, is where the best things happen, right? [No seriously...right????] It was a lot more emotional than I expected, which is a very un-ESTJ thing to admit. (My Te would like me to tell you it was a smooth and well-executed transition. My Si would like me to tell you I cried more than once....which I did...many times) But I'm back now, and I am excited to have the time now to really focus on this community. No more carving time out in the early morning or late evening or even between meetings time. Actual time. So before I build out what the next few months look like here, I want to know what you actually want more of. What threads do you want to pull on? What's sitting unresolved for you from what we've covered so far?

Decode Your Four-Letter Type: Two People Can Share Letters and Run Opposite Cognitive Sequences
The four-letter Myers-Briggs type is not the destination. It is a decoder ring. What is it decoding? Your cognitive function stack. The letters exist to reveal which functions you prefer, in which order, and how they are oriented. The stack is where the actual substance lives. The last letter tells you which function is extroverted. J types extrovert their judging function. P types extrovert their perceiving function. The first letter tells you which function is preferred. Extroverts lead with the function they extrovert. Introverts lead with the function they introvert. Take ENTP and INTJ. Both NT types. Same temperament group. In practice, they are running almost opposite cognitive sequences. The ENTP leads with Extroverted Intuition. The driver question: what possibilities am I not seeing yet, and where could this go? The co-pilot is Introverted Thinking. The second question: does this actually hold together on its own terms? The INTJ leads with Introverted Intuition. The driver question: what is the pattern beneath all of this, and where is it heading? The co-pilot is Extroverted Thinking. The second question: does this work, and can it be made to work better? Same two middle letters. Completely different direction of energy. Completely different criteria for trust. If you know your current best-fit type and want me to map out your cognitive function stack, drop it below.

@Virginia Schobel I’m going to have to ponder this. Right now I would say I see the pattern first.
Research Prompt: What did you do the day after your color analysis?
Most people remember their immediate reaction to a result better than they remember the result itself. Pick the one that's closest: I'm curious whether the first move correlates with how well the result stuck.

I chose the went straight into action option but am adding a qualifier because I am a problem child. I really knew in my core I was a winter, had been given Clear Winter before but was pegged by Stacey as Cool Winter which I accepted without hesitation. She also had known me for a while and that was reflected in her application. I remember looking at my closet and nodding. I started looking at outliers even though they were “good colors” for me they didn’t feel cohesive. With rare exception they are gone.

Empty nester, grand daughter due in late July! Cool winter, blue-loving, petite gamine who leans hard towards classics. (nearly a 50-50 split)
