How’s everyone doing this week? Any goals to accomplish? Mine: trying to launch my FALL menu and having to train the kitchen crew on prep, cook, and execution takes some time! Especially with something like pho from a family recipe and me not being there often! I’ll get it done! Hope you’re all well! Any questions I can help answer?

@Samong Som That is INCREDIBLE! I totally support that trip to Cambodia and firmly believe it'll inspire you to greater lengths when you're there, embracing culture and cuisine. Then you'll be making us all amazing foooood :D
What is your current obstacle for your business?
Tell me what’s on your mind. Share what’s been stalling you… having you lose sleep at night. I’ll go first. For the past two weeks, revenue drastically declined. I actually lost sleep because I know how hard my team and I work. We try to market, make reels, bring on new items. I was slacking on creativity on my social media since I had to take a medical hiatus. That really hurt my business account! Constantly wondering “what’s going on?! Where are the people?” got really concerning. Then it hit me. I had to pivot my strategy. Even if it meant making silly reels, controversial (lightly) reels, or change my approach so I’m not like everyone else. Because our goal in this academy is to NOT be cookie cutter business owners. We are to be authentically ourselves! And it worked! META showed that my views went from 20k audience to over 48k without paying for ads or boosting my posts. Now, I don’t have a huge following, BUT the value from these followers are actually paying customers who come to get our food. So whatever obstacle you’re encountering right now- let’s tackle this giant and get you on your way to success!

This is a totally valid and important concern! So, since it's just you, many people start off as sole proprietorship. It has its benefits and free to file as so. But the LLC would separate your personal assets from your professional expenses. Your profit margins are higher right now and most likely be at its highest. If you decide to get into a food truck, it'll revolve around other expenses but honestly, profit margins are still relatively great because other than paying for insurance, propane, gasoline to haul the trailer or truck, permits, inventory, POS system, then everything else would be in your pocket. When you're charging for food there are two ways you could do it. Include the state sales tax in your pricing already ($15 flat rate with tax included) which is appealing for the consumer. Or you could do it the way most businesses do and separate the 6%. In Idaho, if you have a certified food truck with proper sinks, different tanks for clean and waste water, and other specifications that generally change year-by-year, then you could essentially prepare your food inside your trailer as your commissary. It gets challenging if you're mass producing product, but it works if you're making just enough for day-to-day operations. If you're doing a large event such as Art in the Park, or Treefort festival, there'd be no way to store that much food for a crowd of thousands of people (you know? ) haha. This is what I've found thus far since I've been out of the food truck game for a couple of years. https://cdh.idaho.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Mobile-Food-Establishments-Requirement-Table.pdf Commissaries are hard to find in Treasure Valley. The ones currently available are booked for months and they are expensive, so I hear ya! Regarding your pricing, I would use the basic formula of finding out exactly how much it costs you to make it. Then multiply it by 3.5 to cover all of your expenses including your own profit, then you'll have a general idea of what you should/could sell it for.

Building a rad group so far!
It looks like we're welcoming more members! Please feel free to introduce yourself! I wanted to see if you guys would be interested in live Q&A's (weekly) at a time that'll work for you all? Can't decide if early morning coffee chats (virtual) or evenings would work so let's hear your thoughts! This will be an open forum to ask questions, share your concerns and obstacles, and I'll help shed some insight on how to help.

Daily Value Topic #2 - WINNING
Winning doesn't always mean it has to be a huge accomplishment. Quite literally, if you got up an hour earlier than you normally do, that's considered a win. Why? Because a change in our normal routine to better ourselves will produce positive results if done with good intention. Sometimes as business owners, we strive to win at everything we do, but the reality of it is, we're constantly putting out fires, solving problems, negotiating better rates and deals to keep our profit margins at a reasonable amount (livable amount), etc. All the daily obligations may make us feel like lesser winners. So today, let's start with: WHAT'S YOUR WIN FOR TODAY? (You can totally do this at the end of the night when the day is done :) )

Checking in with you all. I'm sure you all know the news of Charlie Kirk. This brings it back to how we view society and where our country and world is going. I won't tap into any politics or religion, but I would like to comment on spreading kindness. That's how we can effectively make a difference. It may not be a huge difference, but it's going against the hate in this world. So next time you see someone who has a nice outfit on, make it known to them. Or buy someone a coffee. My win for today is allowing myself to take a breather by doing absolutely nothing. I laid in bed and enjoyed a little slice of silence and solitude. It's my form of resetting. I hope you all had a good day, given everything that has happened.
