Around the World in 80 Sketches – Amsterdam 🇳🇱 I’ve just finished last week’s Amsterdam scene and honestly… I had way too much fun with this one. 🥳👌 I’ve never really been someone who leans into collage, but something about this process just clicked. Tearing, layering, letting things be a little imperfect… it felt freeing in a way I didn’t expect. 🙌🏻❤️ Like I didn’t have to control every line, just respond to what was happening on the page. Amsterdam felt like the perfect place for it too. Those tall, wonky buildings, the textures, the quiet rhythm of it all… it almost asked to be built rather than drawn. 🧱✏️ I think this might have opened a little door for me creatively. This week, we’ve gently landed in Thyholm, Denmark… and oh, what a quiet, calming place it is 🌿 There’s something about this part of the world that feels… softened. The light stretches out across the land, the water sits quietly in the distance, and everything seems to move at a slower, more thoughtful pace. I had a little wander around Sunddraget, and it feels like the kind of place where you don’t need to rush. Where noticing becomes the main event.💜 The colours are gentle… Soft greens, muted blues, earthy tones that feel like they’ve been quietly resting there for years. Even the buildings seem to sit peacefully within the landscape, rather than shouting for attention. It made me think about how not every sketch needs to be bold or busy. Sometimes, the most beautiful pages come from stillness… from space… from simply observing what’s in front of you. ✏️ This Week’s Gentle Prompt Instead of looking for something exciting to sketch… what if you looked for something quiet? - A soft horizon - A simple shape - A place where your eyes can rest Let this one be slow. No pressure. No expectations. Just you, your page, and a little moment of calm.
