Wild boars
Wild boars' population in Portugal has been growing, namely in the ArrÔbida mountain range (Setúbal region), so some 400 to 600 were killed last year, and 600/700 will be shot in 2026. They provoke many damages to farms and are seen in the beaches in the region, raising worries among the residents. If they are only killing 6-700 that is not enough.. they are producing at a rate much high then what is being killed. Portugal better get with it and get aggressive or they will take over. As an example in Texas pigs damage to crops and agriculture averages between $500-$871 Million a year.

@Sara Yurman This is all great information, however, it is almost a year old, and all of the places are a minimum of 3 or 4 hour drive from me. Thanks for the info anyhow.
Tap water warning...
QUOTED: The Directorate-General of Health warns of risks to water and food safety following Storm Kristin and power outages, recommending caution in consumption, food handling, and sanitation to protect public health. The DGS (Directorate-General of Health) issued a set of recommendations on Thursday night following the storm that affected several regions of the country in the early hours of Wednesday, causing power outages that persist in some areas, which could compromise the quality of drinking water and food safety. "Situations like this impact the safety of food stored in refrigerators and freezers, as well as water quality, especially in areas where the supply depends on electrical systems," the statement warns. To reduce these risks, the health authority calls for the adoption of preventive measures and safe behaviors, such as avoiding the consumption of water from sources that are not connected to the public supply network, such as wells or mines, as they may be contaminated. The DGS (Directorate-General of Health) advises the public not to drink tap water, wash food or brush their teeth with it, unless there is official confirmation of its safety, and to use bottled water whenever possible. "If you don't have bottled water, boil the water for 10 minutes before using it or disinfect it with bleach without dyes, detergents or perfumes (about 2 drops per liter of water)," he recommends, also advising the population to wash their hands well before handling treated water or food. Off-grid / preparedness equipment research & recommendations
I am looking into Starlink, battery packs, solar panels, wind turbines, inverters, stoves etc, etc and will share my information here. Ultimate aim is to be able to broadcast Good Morning Portugal! when mains grid power and standard internet are down.

@Carl Munson I know of Starlink but have done zero research on its efficient. There are companies in the US who offer satellite internet such as Hughes net, I have heard from others that it is expensive and not reliable.
Beer with salt? (But has it improved Sagres?)
I tried it. And liked it! "A golden, light and refreshing beer, with a surprising ingredient that reminds us of our sea - a pinch of Portuguese sea salt - which enhances all the flavors of the beer, providing a greater sense of balance and refreshment ... more" I'm a Sagres fan anyway, and this 'twist' makes for something special (to me). I also sampled Musa's 'Frank APA', which was very good too. Thanks to Auchan on this occasion. Sagres or Super for you? (I'm in the minority)

So how different would that be than adding a lime and salt to Corona beer?
