@Ina Jalil My video is finally ready! I’ve loaded it to YouTube so you can take a peek and now I’m just working out how best to launch and optimise it. https://youtu.be/CSusJQgSpfs

Jo this is amazing! Very well done and very inviting!
Heavy editors..
When it comes to revealing the gallery to your clients to let them choose the pictures they like.. I understand that some people show quite a few photos and let the client choose the ones they prefer. I was wondering how to go about this when it comes to editing. For the people who prefer subtle edits do you edit all your photos before presenting? (Eg: 40 photos etc) And for the clients who edit abit heavier (which is what I’m trying to start doing more of) ho do you go about it? Do you let the clients choose the photos.. do you choose the photos yourself. And how much editing do you do when letting them choose? Because it takes me a while to edit my photos like below and to edit 40 photos for them to choose from I’d be editing for weeks 😂 Also.. for the ones who edit heavier.. how many photos do you usually finalise as part of their package etc. Thankyouuuuu

Hi! I usually cull and lightly edit for any white balance or lighting about 20-40 images depending on the amount of dogs or people in the session. I fully edit my favorite image and show that one first during their gallery reveal and let them know the ones they choose will be edited in that style. We typically go through the gallery together and choose the final images including any face swaps or anything that it takes to get the final images to be perfect. Whatever they choose as their package I fully edit.
What are your favorite products & labs?
I am working on offering products and currently have a fairly limited product list. I'm okay with that, but I want to feel confident with the products I offer and I want to feel confident with my pricing. I currently offer wrapped and framed canvases from *sharp intake of breath* ProPrints. They're inexpensive and reliable but I feel a bit like an imposter offering them because the quality is not much above consumer lab options (they may very well be consumer not pro). I also think that I offer them to have a lower cost option to offer my clients (pricing and mindset are still a work in progress). I also offer Guild canvas as a luxury option though just added them to my product list and do not have a sample just yet. I love the collage @Ina Jalil shared and the portrait boxes. I am wondering who you all like. Is Graphi the way to go for everything? WHCC? I want to keep it simple but feel good about my products.

@Stacey Sherman Thanks! Yep, they are metal prints with float mounts in black. These are their matted metal which I wish I would have ordered semi gloss but my client has windows all over and wanted to reduce glare.
This Email From a Giveaway Client Landed in My Inbox Tonight…
I received a really lovely email this evening from one of the recent clients I got an event giveaway. I've attached a screenshot of the email. The giveaway I did was the same one I do at every event. A complimentary session plus $300 print and artwork credit (which they can use as a credit or towards one 8x12 inch matted print). She spent $2,190 after the artwork credit. Just wanted to share this because I know there's a lot of people who says that you giveaways doesn't work. 40-50% of my clients this year has come from lead generating competition/giveaway I run at events. When you structure a giveaway properly, and you follow up with education plus give them an amazing client experience, they convert - The giveaway itself isn’t the “strategy”… it’s what you do after they enter that builds trust - If you’ve tried giveaways before and they didn’t work, it doesn’t mean they’re broken. It usually means the structure, the follow-up, or the positioning needs a tweak. Has a giveaway ever worked (or not worked) for you? Let’s chat in the comments.

This is amazing! My first giveaway I had a runner up be my first product purchase of $2400, but in her case I only offered a waived session fee so she knew she would be spending something when she accepted. Recently I have had most only want the free print even though I walk them through the entire process as if they were a full client. I still nurture them and they have left amazing reviews, but I may have to be a little more selective in 2026.
