Long buying cycle for pet photography
So this comes as a follow up from Yunet's post. Sometimes we forget that the buying journey is not so quick for pet photography. For some yes, they have found us and book in right away but for most the buying cycle is longer and it takes multiple touch points before someone may be ready to book with us, weeks, months or even years. In saying this, sometimes it can really feel defeating when you show up at events, run marketing campaigns, and you feel like you're doing all the things and all the right things but only making small tractions. It's okay to feel defeated, but don't stay in this for long. Think of all of these as data. Make sure to measure and record metrics from every campaign and then use it as data to determine if it's worth repeating. This is what I've been doing in my business with the 12 month marketing calendar system I use. I track the data and rinse and repeat what worked, and for the ones that didn't work, I review to see whether what was it that didn't work. It could be different factors from the messaging, the offer or just not the right place where my ideal clients hang out. An example that came up was I put up a Mother's Day mini session campaign earlier this year. I posted it, sent it to my email list a few times, ran facebook ads and spent a few hundred $$. But i got ZERO bookings! Zilch. I thought it was a flop and a waste of time and effort. But this week, I had an organic client booked in a consult and I asked her how she found me. She said she found me on Google, but actually the first time she found me was when she saw my Mother's day facebook ad on her insta feed, she saved the post and she remembered then how she loved my work. But she didn't take up that offer. Last month when she wanted to look for a pet photographer for her new puppy, she searched on Google and my name came up first and she remembered my work from the ad she saw in May. That's why she booked me. So long story short what I'm trying to say is, even when you think a marketing campaign has flopped, think again. So this Ad didn’t fail, it worked but not in the way I had hoped. It planted a seed in her mind. When timing was right she booked in.

The client's journey
Hi everyone! I struggle with mindset a lot specially feeling I should be a lot further in my business than I am. But something just clicked for me yesterday and I heard Ina's voice in the back of my mind reminding me to "keep showing up". My last two events I vendored at felt like a flop. I got only a couple of leads between the two of them for my giveaway and it felt like a waste of time, money and energy. I talked to Ina and she told me to just keep showing up, to be seen by the dog community no matter what the outcome of the event is, that sometimes she does not get many leads at an event, but she was there and people see her name over and over. Well I read something along the lines that it takes a client 5-12 "touch points" before they can commit to purchase a service. That means they have to see your name around that many times in different places or from different sources to build that trust. It blew my mind. Showing good work and being able to show value in what we offer is not enough, we must be seen over and over for a client to believe us and see why they need our services. Just wanted to share in case anyone else could use the reminder that sometimes the fruits of our labour are not immediately apparent.

@Ina Jalil that makes perfect sense and I saw your post!! That is amazing. This has shifted my goals for the next couple of months at least my mindset to visibility over bookings. I get impatient because i feel I have been doing the photography thing for so long but I have to remind myself my previous clients were a completely different niche and are in a different state across the country so technically i am still in the building stages in my new venture. Thank you for taking the time to respond and your support! Looking forward to our chat tomorrow!

Bouncing Dog!
I just wanted to share this coz I could watch this all day. This is Griffin the winner of my calendar contest this year. He’s a dachshund and he’s got IVDD so he walks and runs around with 2 back wheels. When he’s not in his wheels though, he’s being carried around in this pram. And when he gets excited he does this bounce. It’s just so cute Griffin and his parents picked up their wall arts today. They ordered a 24x36in canvas and 6 14x14in canvas. Anyway I thought this would bring a smile to your face!

Wall art client love
I am still working on my confidence in the products I offer, but it is so nice to see the excitement in clients that walked in knowing they wanted to display their images in their home! I took them through the entire process including showing them different options on their own walls. They are so happy with their prints!! Ina has been such a great guide and push for me to believe in my offering! Thank you 🥰

@Julie Addison thank you so much Julie!! It was a hard session, the clients wanted to use their parents back yard since the dogs had a little bit of reactivity in new places so it was a location i had never used and the lighting was all off so i was sooo happy with the end result and to see they were happy with it too
