Seeking Advice: To Buy or Not to Buy?
Hi friends, I’m a collector with over 180 bottles, and lately, my Taurus indecisiveness is making it hard to choose new additions. I want to avoid "dumb purchases" and keep my collection focused on quality brands like Guerlain, Issey Miyake, Hugo Boss, Mancera, and Nishane. I’m currently looking at some fragrances that are heavily discounted, but they feel a bit "generic" or "meh" to me. Examples include: - Azzaro The Most Wanted Intense EDT ($40 tester) I'm afraid to be another Ralphs Club EDP - generic and boring. - Azzaro Wanted Tonic ($30 tester) It could be a generic gym scent. I love lime, but I already have some good lime scents. - D&G The One Gold ($40 tester) To be honest, I tried it twice, and it smells like calone to me, and on my skin, it pops a little. I love the line and already have the EDP and EDP Intense. - Coach for Men EDT ($35 tester) I already have the Green and love. I am afraid to be another Sauvage clone to be forgettable in my wardrobe. - Versace Eros Flame ($45 tester) I have the Eros EDP, and it was my first tester, the start of the addiction lol. But now, I find the EDP too juvenile, and that’s why it might be nice to have one that feels slightly more mature. My Question: Do you think these "average" scents will ever become hyped classics, or will they just disappear from the market without anyone missing them?

For me they are meh and not fbw

@Diogo Reis for me and where I’m at in my frag journey I’ve become very selective in what I consider FBW. None of those houses are for me personally either from a scent profile or performance standpoint. Obviously many people do enjoy them and that’s fine.

Wowowowow I love a blue whore!!!!! Only its twin (Red) left in the marathon ATH run. Yes it’s a cheeky name but this frag absolutely delivers in full!!! Spicy sweet that goes and goes. Be well.

Fragrance Rescue 911!!!
Gentlemen, I have to give a massive shout-out to @Paul Bartnicki for his incredible generosity. He recently sent over four 'Target Practice' fragrances from his collection. To clarify: no, it's not a new house—they were just four Dua scents that didn't quite make his cut and were dangerously close to meeting the business end of one of his high-powered rifles! Luckily, I managed to re-home them before he got trigger-happy. They arrived Wednesday, and I’ve already had the chance to spend some time with three of them: • British Spice (London Spice dupe): My clear favorite. It smells fantastic, and if the inspiration is this good, I can only imagine the quality of the Fragrance Du Bois original. The hunt for the OG is officially on! • Vertil Gentil Homme (Green Irish Tweed dupe): It’s definitely in the right wheelhouse. While it falls a little short of the Creed mark, it’s a very enjoyable wear on its own merits. • King of Oudhania (Royal Oud dupe): Comparing this to my other dupe (Athena’s Royal Castle), both miss the target on the opening but get very close to the Creed DNA in the dry down. This one definitely has the smoother opening of the two. • Acclaim Attar (Amouage Tribute inspiration): This one is a challenge! It’s a beast that I think will be much better suited for the deep cold of next winter. Between me and my two boys, these will definitely be getting plenty of wear. Thanks again, Paul!
