As a business coach, sometimes I overlook my own weaknesses because I’m so focused on being strong for my clients. I was talking to my coach today and told her I was starting to feel burned out. She looked at my calendar and almost immediately saw the problem. I had made EVERYTHING important. Every task. Every meeting. Every project. So instead of moving with structure, I was moving with intensity all day long. I did a couple of time studies today and realized just how much my attention was being pulled in different directions. So I went back to something I used to do: I color-coded my calendar and gave every block of time a specific purpose. Within an hour, I already felt relief. Sometimes the answer isn’t working less. It’s creating better structure around the work that actually matters. Funny how, as coaches, we sometimes have to be reminded to take our own advice. Does anybody else here get trapped in the same thing?
