Checking in
Hey guys wanted to check in with everyone. Quick update: Surgery went well, although there was a little more infection left, so they had to take off more than expected. Weird not having a finger, and I've got a big oven mit on again, but I'm hanging in there. I'm hoping over the next few days I'll have the restructue complete on both sides, with plenty more lessons and material coming your way in the near future. Again, I can't tell you how much your support has meant to me. I'm looking forward to this new adventure and excited to have people like you to share it with. Keep strumming, Jake

Praying they removed all the infection & you have a speedy recovery
Happy Sunday Guitarist
Hey everyone I hope you are well and enjoying a beautiful Sunday. Jake G. is in recovery from the surgery so he might not be as active over the next couple days. Everything went well, all things considered. 😢 So in light of circumstances I thought it would be appropriate to talk about the importance of dreams and goals. @Deborah Zettlemoyer made a post the other day talking about why do you play guitar and I thought it brings up a fantastic point. Why do we play? Sure, everyone has an answer to that question but unless guitar is how you make a living... It usually ends up on the bottom of the priority list every day. Let's change that!!! - Your guitar should always be accessible. The more work it is to get it out the less likely you grab it and play - 5 to 15 minutes most days is better than an hour every 2 weeks. - Save dessert for last. What ever it is that you are most excited about save it for the last thing you do. - Track your practice, sounds trivial but writing things down is super powerful and for extra fuel record yourself. I hope this helps. Please share your top tips for success in the comments 👇 Have a wonderful day.

I practice almost everyday 2 times a day 30-60 min warm up, a song or 2, scales, string memory new chords grab release in the afternoon. Then after dinner Guitar gym & work on songs. I know trying to get through a set list 3-5 songs with out stopping. My goals are to learn songs finger style, start recording my self, play in front of people, play with others and finish songs I started writing. also play Smoke On the Water & Stairway to Heaven in the music store hahaha/LOL

Someone showed me this & called it the Nashville Number System & said you could change the key of any song using this chart. The one I saw only had major key chord's this one is much more detailed. Thank you Jake!
