Where have I been
Hi everyone, we have a tone of new comers here and I've been absent. I want you all to know that I will be returning this week, I've been really busy with some big markest I did and working off the farm. I'm taking this entire next week off so I can focus on the farm and my social media. Please if you haven't introduce yourselves and your new please do, feel free to share where your at in the journey and please ask any questions or voice any concerns you'd have in the questions section as I will be looking there daily. I have actually turned on notifications for this app, I try not to do that, so I don't forget about it.

So I finally braves the sourdough journey again but this time with a better jar that hopefully won’t get baked or microwaved or who knows what fingers crossed for the wild ride. I didn’t want to say to early in the game but we are on day 6! So that’s were I’ve been.
Mary, Mary quite contrary how does your garden grow?
So how are our gardens doing? I am going to post some survival garden videos and start going over what my top survival crops are. I thought I should then ask what are your top 3 crops to grow to get you through winter? Mine are Squash, potatoes, and tomatoes as they make up a majority of what I preserve.

I had to almost restart everything from deer to gopher and then vole taking every plant that camp up or that was planted this year so I’m starting over with pots and it’s not very cute but it’s something

Finally got the starters planted and the ones I had to buy. What’s everyone else’s garden looking like? Excited for anything? We happened to find the peppers they use in Tabasco sauce and my oldest son and I are going to attempt to make some.

Finally got my tomatoes seedlings in the ground ( well not seedlings anymore lol) have the borage and basil and rosemary surrounding them, lets hope for a good harvest this go round. have the cucumbers seedlings in but need to setup their trellis and strawberries and sage setup, raspberries and blueberries have come back in full swing. peaches are happy and the last march frost we got didn’t hurt them one bit. My chamomile and lavender are making the bees happy. And I’m hoping to see more progress on the Pawpaws this year.
Simple Quiche
Ingredients - 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade) - 5 eggs - 1 cup milk or cream - 1 cup shredded cheese - 4–5 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled - ¼–½ onion, diced - Salt and pepper Instructions 1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). 2. Cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and crumble. In the same pan, sauté the diced onion in a small amount of bacon fat until soft and lightly golden. 3. Mix the Eggs in a bowl, whisk togethe until fully combined. 4. Place your pie crust into a pie dish. Add: - Cooked bacon - Sautéed onions - Shredded cheese Pour the egg mixture evenly over the top 5. Bake for 35–45 minutes, or until the center is just set.(It should have a slight jiggle but not be liquid.) Notes - Do not overbake — this keeps the quiche soft and creamy - Easily adaptable — swap bacon for ham, add vegetables, or change the cheese - Great for using up what you already have in the fridge

Spring Chicken
Spring equals chicks and baby animals that's just a given. It's not something created by Cadbury to sell their easter candy, though they help (their so cute). Spring is a time of new beginnings, the buds on the trees, daffodils, pussywillows, and babies. I've filled the incubator with a dozen eggs and we have a hen sitting on a dozen eggs. In the future I'll do a master class on how to incubate eggs. It's on the list sourdough first, but keep you eye out for it if your interested in learning this skill.
