Bethlehem Experience
hey guys tonight I went to a Bethlehem experience! Basically was an interactive play of Jesus life!! It was cool getting to walk through the different areas and be fully absorbed into the teaching! One of the most impactful moments for me was watching Jesus carry the cross and falling and seeing Mary run up to Jesus. I’m not exactly sure why it hit me the most but maybe because in that moment he was Mary's son also, he was a person here with us and watching her mom heartbreak just got me! I think it also just forces you to really wrap yourself into and fully grasp what Jesus did for us the people hated him first so he could love us! What’s one moment of Jesus life that when you sit there and just fully emerge yourself into that moment makes you sit in awe of what God did for us?
Week 1
The verse that stood out to me the most was “Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.” — Proverbs 16:32 (NIV) The word patient stood out to me! It stood out to me because this is the word I had received from God to pray over this coming year and to focus on! Diving deeper into it, in Proverbs 16:32 (ESV) it is said as “Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city” slow to anger is something that I can work on. I also think I am a quick reactor to any emotion! This week I worked on thinking and processing before reacting or saying anything! I really like this method of fully processing the word verse by verse and sitting with God and asking him to reveal what I need to see! Overall I think this helped me slow down in be patience in his words and allowed me to work on what he wanted me to see!
12/12 teaching
Today’s teaching is a great reminder that we aren’t alone! He is always guiding us right here and right now! I sometimes forget to truly sit on each and every word of God and understand what true impact every word has! Jesus is a Good Shepherd right here with us all right now! Thank God for that amazing blessing! This topic reminds me of a podcast I listened to with Wendy Backlund where she compared God to a GPS! When you make a wrong turn GPS doesn’t just say oops can’t get you to your destination, it reroutes us! This makes me think God is constantly working through our mistakes and when we fall off the path He has for us, He doesn’t just leave us. He helps us reroute and get back on track! This reminder of Jesus being our shepherd gives me the faith of him being right here right now and helping me reroute every time I step off track! Do you feel like this connection of God being like a GPS resonates with you?
Introduction
Hey all! My name is Cassidy and I was born and raised in South Bend, IN (go Notre Dame). I moved to Tiffin, OH after graduating college and I am currently still in the area working. I secretly wish I was able to play the guitar. It would be so cool to be able to just pick it up and play it anywhere. My question is: do you collect anything? (I grew up collecting piggy banks)
