@Faith Navas this is so true! For me, it's so hard to fully let go of things because I feel I may lose"power" over it. But I love that God asks us to fully trust him

12/15 Teaching
"Sometimes the hardest step of faith is letting go of old versions of ourselves" really stuck out to me. It's something I've been struggling with recently. Because of what happened to me when I was a kid, I often wonder about who I would've grown up to be if I had a different upbringing. My entire personality changed after that and I haven't been completely the same since and it makes me upset sometimes. I'm working on letting that go though, because God has already renewed me! I'm exactly who He wants me to be because my identity is in Him and not the things I've been through, so there's nothing to wonder about anymore!

This is so true! I personally think this is the hardest part about being a Christian though, and much easier said than done. Due to our traumas, social norms, distractions, etc. One thing I do like to tell people though, is the "forgive not forget" rule. Meaning we forgive ourselves, or others, but we don't forget, because what happened does teach us what to do and what not to do or what we want and don't want in life. I love this insight though! Thank you for this 🙏
