Priorities
How do you guys choose what extracurriculars to pursue and what not to? Would you choose an activity you've been doing since elementary school over a recent passion project you started or vice versa? Going into my Jr year, I'm in a pickle and need to figure out how to manage my priorities and time, but I really do enjoy all that I do, it's not easy to choose what to pick. How have yall gone about making decisions like these?

What do you extracurriculars look like right now? Did you overcommit to a bunch of things and you like all of them or are you wondering if you should go all put on the passion project vs. something you have been doing for a while?

@Caleb Jung I would say pick 2 - 3 of your favorite ECs and pursue them to the max. You don’t necessarily need to drop the rest, but you can dial down the amount of time you spend on them.

Breaks are important
Studying 24/7 is impossible. Even if you manage to do so, it's unhealthy. The best thing to do is take breaks. Here are a few things to do 1. take care of your health --> if your health fails on you then whatever work you have done won't be worth it. make sure you take walks and exercise your body for 10 mins. 2. Drink water --> common tip but water helps your body so much and even sitting down and having a cup of water as the first thing in the morning is just such a good habit 3. get enough sleep --> whether its thru naps or just your night sleep, get at least 6-7 hours a day. 4. enjoy highschool w ur friends. it's important to focus on urself and lock in but it's also important to have a social life. having a balance is what helps you succeed. This will help you know how to manage your life so in the future it isn't a skill you need to learn. remember to be social! 5.

Sleep is so important 6-8 hours at least !
Comparison is the thief of joy
Please, please, please, stop comparing yourself with others. This is advice that adds on to the first post I made about junior year. At the beginning of the year, I was struggling to balance everything I overcommitted to and was internally comparing my grades and performance in class to the juniors around me and I genuinely started not liking coming to school each day. We all have ups and downs at different times in our lives and it is so important to forgive yourself if you are going through a low point. If anyone is near burning out or gets stressed during the school year, pls reach out. I would be glad to help anytime !
