AML registration
Registration could take up to 45 days for new applications (set up limited company first as you’ll need the company details to apply). Timeline: 1 Submit your online application 2 Pay the registration fees 3 HMRC checks your application and responsible persons 4 HMRC may request additional information 5 HMRC confirms approval or refusal by email

@Carlos Ibbotson defo needs to be in place before selling a deal for our protection and the investors. Like you said, 45 days gives us time to get our heads around the process/ packaging deals etc.

@Luke Atkinson My understanding is that the payment reference confirms payment, not AML registration. AML training and appropriate policies are important, but I don’t believe training certificate are necessarily required before submitting the HMRC application. Registration is only confirmed once HMRC approves it. UTR required to register.

Accountant Reassurance
Spoke to my accountant yesterday about my new venture and his advice was motivating. We are learning a skill and building a business. Capital goes into any start up business so we must remember even though it’ll cost around £1400-£1800 to start up plus annual filling, it’ll be worth it when we start bringing in £10k a month!
