FINALLY finished!!
Hello, lovelies! After nearly 3 years in the making, The Quiet Escape is finally completed. It was a bittersweet feeling as I hit the last key. It’s been quite the journey crafting this manuscript into memoir‑adjacent hybrid novel— and I’m FINALLY at a place where I feel comfortable and confident sharing it. The Quiet Escape blends poetry, narrative fiction, fragmented third‑person reflections, and diary entries. The prologue and epilogue mirror each other in structure and theme, creating a full‑circle emotional arc. If anyone is interested in beta reading this, let me know! I’d be really grateful. Here are the specs: Length: 24 chapters + prologue + epilogue Word count: ≈80,000 (If you’re interested, let me know how many chapters/pages you’d like to read— even a small section helps.) Title: The Quiet Escape Genre: Contemporary Fiction Sub-Genre: Romantic Psychological Drama Armature: When you stop abandoning yourself, you stop choosing people who abandon you. Logline: A neglected young mother escapes her abusive marriage through an intoxicating affair, only to discover her new lover is just as unstable—forcing her to confront her deepest patterns and choose between repeating the cycle or finally saving herself. If you’d like to read the synopsis, I’d be happy to share it with you. Though, honestly, I’m just happy that I finished my manuscript and wanted to share the good news!

@Hannah Janeth Thank you so much for taking the time to read the synopsis and for responding with such care. This story is incredibly close to me, and your words mean more than you know. The Quiet Escape is memoir‑adjacent because it’s heavily inspired by my own life over the past few years. I began writing it while I was still in the thick of things— my divorce is still in process—and the manuscript became a way for me to name what was happening, process the trauma bonds and anxious attachments, and slowly move toward a healthier version of myself. In a lot of ways, the act of writing it changed me just as much as the story changed on the page. Many of the characters are drawn from real people and relationships, though I shifted details and used middle names or near‑names to give myself creative and emotional space. I could have written a memoir, but fiction gave me the freedom to deepen emotional resonance, shape scenes for clarity, and explore the internal landscape in ways that would have felt constrained in nonfiction. Some moments are heightened; some are added for context; some are exactly as they happened. And the epilogue—Josef’s perspective—never happened in real life. It was my way of closing the door with compassion, while still holding a quiet hope that the real person finds healing someday, even if that healing has nothing to do with me. Writing this book helped me reclaim my voice, my agency, and my sense of self. It’s been both a creative journey and a deeply personal one, and I’m honestly grateful it resonated with you in a way. Thank you, again, for taking the time to read the synopsis.

Hi, I'm Ashlie and I'm from Seattle Washington. Currently I'm working on many projects--thats probably why I'm having a hard time finishing one. Ha. 1) A Mourning Glorious Affair (Romance novel): too basic, it's become my least favorite 2) Letters I Never Sent (Self explanatory by title): this one is intentionally slow, as I'm also still working on "me". 3) The Diary of Ella Briar Blanchard (Psychological drama with some thriller elements): MC can't visualize literal sense. She goes on a quest to regain her repressed memories. 4) Sunlight, Moonlight & Everything In-between (a collection of poetry): Dragt done ✔️ 5) a Flexitairian Kosher baked goods cookbook: will take time, as all cookbooks do. I mostly need help with motivation to finish certain projects. Also choosing which items to out in my online portfolio.
