Most of you joined this community, looked around, and never told me what you're actually stuck on. So I've been guessing. That stops today. I built a free 3-minute audit. You answer five questions, it tells you exactly where you're stuck, and then I send you short videos built for your specific blocker instead of generic advice. It covers both sides of what we do here: government contracts and AI. Twelve different paths, and you get the one that matches you. Take it here: https://contractescapeaudit.lovable.app This is free. It always will be. But I can't help you if I don't know where you're stuck. Drop a comment when you finish and tell me what it said. I read every one. Dr. Mel

@Melissa Williams Dr. Williams, thank you for putting together this abbreviated audit. I appreciate the short, focused approach and the idea of identifying where someone may be stuck rather than providing generic advice. I also like that you've incorporated both government contracting and AI, two areas that are particularly relevant to what I'm working on. I look forward to taking the audit and seeing where it leads me. Thank you for continuing to provide practical and accessible resources. Arthur L. Coleman

🛑 Why I Told You to STOP Chasing Contracts
Real talk: I used to chase contracts too. Applying to everything. Refreshing SAM.gov hoping something would land. It doesn't work like that — and if you're doing it right now, I want to save you the time I lost. I just posted a new video breaking down exactly why "chasing" is the wrong move, and what actually gets you picked instead. 9 minutes, no fluff — just what years of doing this taught me. 🎥 Watch it here: STOP CHASING CONTRACTS Drop a comment after you watch — I read every one, and your questions shape next week's video.

@Melissa Williams This hit home for me. What I’m learning to let go of is the urge to pursue an opportunity simply because CCGrowth can potentially perform it. I’m becoming much more selective—asking whether it fits our real capabilities, whether the economics make sense, whether we have the resources to perform, and whether there is a realistic path to winning. For me, the shift is from “Can we bid this?” to “Should we bid this?” That distinction is saving time and helping me concentrate on the two or three opportunities that truly deserve attention. Great lesson, Dr. Mel.
Build Relationships Before the Solicitation 🤝🎯
Hey everyone! Ken here, running community operations. The worst time to introduce yourself to a buyer is after the solicitation is already posted—when every single competitor is flooding their inbox and paying attention. Long-term winning starts way before the RFP hits the portal. You can begin building real relationships early through: - 🏛️ Vendor Outreach Events: Attending agency-hosted matchmaking sessions - 🏢 Industry Days: Participating in pre-solicitation briefings - 📊 Procurement Forecasts: Tracking what agencies plan to buy 6–12 months out - 🤝 Prime Contractor Meetings: Networking for subcontracting and teaming opportunities - 🎙️ Professional Associations: Getting involved in industry-specific chapters - ✉️ Thoughtful Email Introductions: Requesting brief capability reviews - 💡 Consistent Educational Content: Position yourself as a subject matter expert Remember: You are not trying to pressure buyers. You are learning their pain points and helping them understand your execution capabilities. When the right opportunity finally appears, the buyer should already recognize your name and understand exact value you deliver. 👇 Audit your networking strategy in the comments below!

Excellent point, Ken. One area I’m intentionally strengthening is relationship-building with both government buyers and potential prime contractors before an opportunity reaches the solicitation stage. As a small federal contractor pursuing both products and services, I’ve learned that being registered and capable is only part of the equation. Understanding what an agency buys, identifying upcoming needs, and developing relationships with primes that may need qualified small-business partners can be just as important. I’m particularly interested in expanding my approach to teaming and subcontracting relationships where complementary capabilities can make both companies more competitive. I’d be interested in hearing from others here: What has been your most productive pathway for developing relationships with prime contractors before an opportunity is released?
