What did family court do to your identity?
What changed the MOST about how you see yourself? Don’t just vote—tell us why. I’m interested in what happens after years of court dates, accusations, financial pressure, losing time with your children, and constantly having to defend yourself. At some point the question stops being only “What did the system do to me?” “Who did I become while fighting it—and who do I want to be when the fight is over?”

Well in this I fight I realized that I don’t have to play by the rules because they don’t do that either and nobody is punishing them. The husband of my ex held a gun to my head in my son’s school and the police didn’t do anything. They accused me of hitting my ex so basically I had to prove that I didn’t do anything. I was supposed to talk to my son online during Covid but my ex decided not to join and the judge didn’t even tell her that it wasn’t nice. Fathers have to pay child support but there’s nothing that they can expect in return. A walking ATM machine, that’s what the system made out of us. So I show up in the most unexpected time and most unexpected way and that just keeps my ex and her family in edge. My son is getting older so hopefully he’ll want to hear my side of the story as well. Fortunately I have everything documented so we’ll see… 🤷‍♂️😀

@Justin Mills I am trying to worry about the things that I can control. I don’t mind that my ex got married I just hope that she is happy. If one day I can have a normal relationship with my son then I’ll be happy but I learned to live without it also. Life is too short to hold grudges or be angry my friend. I am not wasting my energy on them by being angry because they don’t care about me. So I stopped caring about them. Life can change very quickly
