NEW Exotic Pet Care Guides and 24 hour discount!
Most exotic pet emergencies don’t start as emergencies. They start as subtle changes that are easy to miss and often tied to husbandry. By the time many rabbits, birds, reptiles, or small mammals are presented to a vet, the condition has often been developing for days (sometimes weeks or even months) in the background. And the frustrating part is… a lot of these cases are preventable with the right knowledge. That’s why I’ve put together my: 📘 Small Mammal Complete Guide The handbook on caring for rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, rats and mice. 📗 Exotic Pet Care Guide Bundle All four exotic pet guides: 1. Small Mammals 2. Reptiles 3. Birds 4. Amphibians These guides are designed to bridge the gap between mixed general advice online and an in person veterinary consult. Inside the guides I cover: • Early warning signs of common exotic diseases • Species-specific nutrition and husbandry recommendations including housing, cage set up, toys, enrichment and more • Common health problems and preventative care tips to detect disease early and actually reduce emergency vet visits • Practical, evidence-based guidance I use in practice and teach to my clients and vet colleagues every week And I am offering a 25% Early Bird Discount for the next 24 hours only! Get the Small Mammal Guide for only $14 Or the Complete Exotic Care Bundle for only $40! These guides are for both: 🐾 Pet owners who want to feel confident caring for their pets 🩺 Vets and vet med professionals who want a practical reference tool Happy to answer questions if you’re unsure what’s right for you!

👋 A little about me
We have plenty of new members today and I am thrilled to have everyone here so I thought I would give a bit more of an introduction to my self. I’m Olivia (or Liv). I’m an avian and exotics veterinarian, and I’ve spent my entire veterinary career working with what are often called “unusual pets” aka birds, rabbits, rodents reptiles, and other exotic species. I hold Membership qualifications with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in both Avian Medicine and Surgery and Medicine and Surgery of Unusual Pets, and I’ve worked for many years in dedicated avian and exotics practice. I now work primarily in education and content creation, whilst still practicing in clinic on weekends. I’ve always believed that birds and exotic pets deserve the same standard of care, attention, and advocacy as dogs and cats. A big part of my mission is pushing for better welfare, better education, and better outcomes for them. My approach to veterinary care is holistic. I focus on treating the whole animal, not just the clinical signs. That means looking at nutrition, environment, enrichment, behaviour, and husbandry alongside medical care, and helping prevent problems before they start. Outside of work, I’m also a pet parent to my own 12 year old bunny, Flick (pictured here). Living with exotic pets over the years (birds, guinea pigs, even hermit crabs) is a huge part of why I’m so passionate about making education practical, realistic, and accessible for both owners and veterinary teams. Education is a big part of what I do. I regularly deliver continuing education for veterinarians and other veterinary professionals, present at conferences, run webinars, and write articles, E-books and courses in avian and exotics medicine. That’s why I created this community. A place where avian and exotics education is evidence-based and accessible all in one place. I’m so excited to have you here, and now I want to know - What bird or exotic species do you want to learn about?  - What particular topics are you interested in?
