What I did in my allotment this weekend
Yesterday was the first time I got a long stint at my allotment in a long time. I used to regularly spend 4-5 hours there a day. Then my son came along and I struggled to find the time. Now he is a bit older and I am thinking about my life I want to be there more and by having this group and sharing with you, I have another reason to go there. I mostly use a no dig method on my allotment and this weekend I got some compost to top up my beds and I managed to get my potatoes, onions and garlic in. For the potatoes, I only grow first earlies as we get a lot of blight and often get early blight as well so I am hoping they will be ok. My plans for the week are to get my new strawberry plants as well as clearing more areas ready for planting. What have you been doing in your garden recently? Share a picture of your garden below.

I wish I had a space like that.

I'm Mercedes, your host. I hold an RHS Level 3 Distinction in Horticulture and I'm also a somatic practitioner — which basically means I'm equally passionate about what grows in the soil and what shifts in your nervous system when you slow down and pay attention to it. I created this space because I believe gardening is more than a hobby. It's a path to feeling calmer, more present, and more connected — to nature and to yourself. Here's what you'll find here: 🌿 Seasonal growing guides and practical gardening tips 🌿 Mindful practices you can take into your garden or outdoor space 🌿 My own garden transformation — from total mess to something beautiful, all on a budget 🌿 A warm community where dead plants are welcome and perfect lawns are not required This is a space to share what you're growing, what you're noticing, and how the garden is making you feel. No pressure, no performance — just soil, stillness, and good company. Introduce yourself below! Tell us: 🪴 Your name and where you're based 🪴 What your garden looks like right now (honestly!) 🪴 One thing you hope to get from being here So glad you're here 💚

I'm getting back to my front yard garden. Ita been two years since I haven't done anything. Even my neighbors miss it.
