New Feature Alert: Song Key Management
You can now track and manage song keys directly in BookLive! **What's New** Every song in your library now has an optional "Key" field. You can set the key (C, G, Bb, etc.) when adding songs or edit it anytime from your song library. **Why This Matters** If you've ever shown up to a gig and blanked on what key a song is in, this is for you. Now you can: - See the key at a glance when building setlists - - Keep your band on the same page during rehearsals - - Quickly reference keys when a client asks "can you play this in a different key?" **How To Use It** Head to your Song Library, click any song, and you'll see the new Key field. That's it — simple as it should be.

This is so great! Question - how important is it to play the exact key the song was released in? I want to transpose some songs to “easier” keys but am wondering if it loses the authenticity for the listener. Thoughts?
New Feature Alert: Clients Can Preview Your Songs in the Portal
Hey BookLive fam! We just rolled out something that's going to help you close more gigs... **Clients can now preview your songs directly in their Client Portal!** When a client logs into their portal to review their booking, they can now listen to your songs right there - embedded from YouTube or Soundcloud. **Why this matters:** You know those clients who book you but haven't actually heard you play? Or the ones deciding between you and another musician? Now when they're in their Client Portal reviewing the details, they can click play and hear exactly what they're getting. No hunting for links, no leaving the page. **Great for:** - Clients finalizing their song requests for the event - - Event planners who need to share your music with their client (the bride, the corporate contact, etc.) - - Anyone on the fence who just needs to hear you to say yes **How to set it up:** Go to your Songs section and add YouTube or Soundcloud links to your songs. When clients view the setlist or song options in their portal, they'll see the embedded player. This is a simple way to give clients confidence in their booking and make the song selection process way smoother. Try it out!

Awesome feature! I need to start recording more songs…
Feature Spotlight: Song Requests
Want to let your clients request songs for their event? BookLive makes it easy. **How Song Requests Work** Your clients can submit song requests directly through their booking portal. No more back-and-forth emails or spreadsheets - everything lives in one place tied to their event. You'll see all requests in your dashboard where you can approve or deny each one. Approved songs get added to your library and show up on your setlist. Denied requests? You can add a note explaining why (maybe it doesn't fit your style, or you'd need to learn it). **Charge for Special Requests** When you approve a song request, you can add a line item to the invoice to cover the cost of learning it. Great for requests outside your usual repertoire - the client sees the charge clearly tied to their special song. **Managing Song Requests** Song requests are enabled by default. If you'd like to turn them off, go to Library -> Song Requests tab to toggle the setting. Questions? Drop them in the comments!

I just got a few song requests, and I looove it! Especially the YouTube video they linked - that’s very helpful! Are clients sent an automated email for song requests before the timeline/playlist needs to be finalized?
