First time I touched a coiling door I was thrown onto a hurricane relief project at an airforce base in Louisiana — no training, no experience, just figure it out. Coiling doors, hangar doors, the whole thing. Sink or swim. Since then I've done a lot of them and they're honestly one of my favorite door types to work on once you understand how they operate. Loading docks are a whole other animal too — between the dock levelers, seals, and restraints there's a lot going on that most residential techs never see. Curious where everyone's at with this stuff.
