👣 New Footwork Drills Are Now LIVE in the Classroom
Footwork is everything. If your feet are off, nothing else works. I’ve just dropped some new footwork drills in the classroom focusing on movement, balance, and getting into position to score — and make shots miss. These are simple drills you can use whether you’re boxing, kickboxing, or just training for fitness. No fancy stuff, just solid fundamentals that actually work. There’ll be a lot more footwork drills coming over the next couple of weeks, so now’s the perfect time to get on top of it. Get stuck in, give them a go, and let me know how you’re finding them 👊 Ya get me!

Really good videos Coach. How do you feel about the check hook? Some coaches aren’t supportive of it. I find placing my left foot out as I hook more helpful because when I lean back,I lean back further with it out. Other boxers just leave their left foot in place and lean back further, but as I’m old🤣,placing my left foot out helps with that. How do you see it and is it worth doing a a vid,if not no bother 👍🏻👍🏻🥊

Nice one mate. Yeah I think anything that anyone can implement is a good tool. Like I said,I use it a bit but I step out first. But I know there are different ways on it. It would be interesting to see yours. Or even your brothers, get him on the vid🤣. I could probably learn something from him. Thanks mate, hope it went well in Didcot last night 🥊❤️

🔥 Boxing Cardio Explained – Are You Training the Right Way?
Coach Carl breaks down the cardio every boxer and kickboxer really needs to be doing 💪 In this video, he explains the difference between: ✅ Aerobic training (your base fitness) ✅ Anaerobic training (power and bursts) ✅ Sport-specific training (what actually makes you better in the ring) He also gives simple examples of how you can train each one, so you understand why you’re doing what you’re doing – not just copying exercises. This is an overview video to help everyone get a clearer picture of how boxing and kickboxing cardio works and how to train smarter, not just harder. Watch it through and let us know in the comments: 👉 Which type of cardio do you struggle with most? 👉 What would you like Coach Carl to break down next?

@Carl Mallinson Thanks Carl. This was really good. My week looks a bit like this. I love the treadmill. I do most of my roadwork on it as there is a slight bounce which helps my knee. I find 5k quite easy now although it’s not quick but I’m ok with that. I like my sprints too and I do some weights and 30 mins of rowing with 10 mins on the Echo bike. I do all this at my CrossFit sessions on a Monday,Wednesday and Friday mornings. When everyone’s in bed. I prefer Open Gym at Warminster CrossFit. I do my 5k’s boxing as the treadmill’s at CrossFit are Bulldog Gears which aren’t great for someone who’s had MCL tears in the past. So I use the Bulldog Gear for uphill walking or just walking when the weather is bad. Warminster CrossFit is 5 mins from my house so it works out perfectly. I’ve been working on my Cardio for 8 months and have seen a huge change in ability but it could be a lot better. The Cardio I could be better at is the cardio that allows you to last more and more rounds. I find the 2 minute rounds with a minute break so much easier than the 3 minute rounds with a 30 second break. So any help regarding last rounds and conserving energy during rounds could help. I noticed in the Kelly v Murtazaliev fight Saturday night Kelly was conserving energy by moving around the ring trying to stay away whilst keeping his hands down, but if I did that my coaches would have a bloody field day. So any info or advice on that would be amazing. Thanks for all your help and what you do. Cheers mate 🥊
