FUNCTIONAL FREEZE
Functional freeze refers to a state in which a person continues to perform daily responsibilities—responding, caring, working, and showing up externally—while internally feeling emotionally or mentally immobilized. You may experience sensations such as: Heaviness. Mental fog. Emotional numbness. Slowness. Disconnection. Difficulty initiating tasks. Difficulty making decisions. Difficulty moving forward. 👉 This is not a reflection of laziness. Rather, it may indicate that your nervous system is attempting to protect you by slowing the body and mind in response to stress or overwhelm. 👉 Freeze responses can occur when the body perceives threat, excessive stimulation, or emotional overload without a sufficient sense of safety, support, or control. ‼️ For this reason, the freeze response should not be met with shame. 👉 Instead, the goal is to gently support the body in reconnecting with movement and regulation. 👉 TODAY’S QUESTION: Where do I feel emotionally or mentally frozen, and what is one small movement that feels possible today? (ACTION, not non action)

I don’t feel emotionally frozen, I can most of the time identify & feel & connect with my feelings, although anger ~ I could definitely explore some more .. 😅. my chest & hips often freeze up. And when I think of it ~ often I feel shame if I get angry.. hm .. 🤨 I might be very frozen there.. I have been exploring my psoas /hip ( is that name in English..? ) and something deep shifts! 🙌 very grateful!
Let’s talk about Responsibility.
Not the kind that feels heavy. Not the kind that says, “Everything is your fault.” Not the kind that creates shame. I am talking about the kind of responsibility that gives your power back. Because there is a difference between blaming yourself and owning your choices. Blame freezes the body. It says: “I failed.” “I am behind.” “I should have known better.” “What is wrong with me?” Responsibility breathes differently. It says: “Now that I can see this pattern, what choice is available?” “Now that I know this drains me, what boundary do I need?” “Now that I understand my body is overwhelmed, what support can I create?” “Now that I see the old loop, what is the next small action?” Responsibility is not punishment. It is participation. It is the moment you stop waiting for the perfect mood, the perfect timing, the perfect apology, the perfect energy.

A TINY DOORWAY
Sometimes it is only one breath wide. This is the place where choice lives. Reactive energy says: “I have to answer now.” “I have to fix this.” “I have to prove myself.” “I have to protect myself.” “I have to disappear.” “I have to say yes so nobody is disappointed.” The body may tighten. The breath becomes short. The jaw locks. The belly pulls in. The shoulders rise. The feet lose contact with the ground. This is not wrong. ‼️ This is information. Your nervous system may be trying to protect you. But proactive energy asks questions!! 👇Share your questions👇

🌿✨ WELCOME TO THE JAW JOURNEY ✨🌿
A big warm welcome to all the new members joining us… and a huge congratulations for saying YES to yourself. You took action You chose movement over staying stuck. You chose listening over ignoring the signals. You chose possibility over postponing. That matters more than you know. @Mary Griffin @Haris K @Trudy Roberts @Amy McCormac @Liesbet W @Ashley Emerson @Zabrina Sofia Alexies Søgård @Ashley Ruiz @Ida Görsch @Tom Tucker @Catherine Middleton @Anya Mardy @Simonr Lin @Sally Ashby @Rob Archibold @Erin Riley @Elie J So many people live with: jaw tension clenching grinding headaches neck tightness facial fatiguestress held in the mouth and face …thinking it is normal. But the body is always speaking. And YOU chose to listen. 💫 You chose to begin shifting old patterns. 💫 You chose to create space where there was pressure. 💫 You chose softness where there was holding. 💫 You chose solutions instead of simply tolerating discomfort. This journey is not about forcing anything. It is about guiding the body back toward: freedom mobility ease breath relief a more pain-free jaw a calmer nervous system Every small practice matters. Every moment of awareness matters. Every time you soften your jaw, breathe deeper, or notice tension before it builds… you are changing something real. Please introduce yourself below if you’d like 👇What brought you here? What are you hoping to shift? What would feeling better allow in your life?

@Ashley Ruiz ah I feel with you! And recognize myself .. and big shift in my body has started.. hope you will feel the shift soon, Big 🩷
Why am I not taking action?
“I already know what to do.” And the answer is not lack of knowledge. It’s the nervous system. When you’ve experienced stress or trauma, your body is not focused on growth. It’s focused on survival. 👉 So instead of moving forward, the body can go into: freeze avoidance overthinking numbing And from the outside, it looks like: procrastination lack of motivationinconsistency But internally… the system is trying to stay safe. 👉 And here is the paradox: You need to take action to change your life… but taking action can feel unsafe. So what do we do? We don’t force big change. We start small. One step. One breath. One moment of showing up. Because action is not something you wait for. Action is something you create. And every small step teaches your body: it’s safe to move it’s safe to try it’s safe to change You don’t need to feel ready. You need to be willing. SHARE 👇 what are you trying today?

I am trying to take it slow ... and it works quite well... an old accident trauma has appeared to me, that I have compleatly shut down around for 25 year .. but came up last week in a body treatment. it s in the neck. I have been having so strange pain in my body since I was a teenager, and this accident might be the root cause .... and then joining in here with the work with the jaw and tongue and nervous system .. such a brilliant syncronicity. I love that <3 I take it very slow, I enjoy the process, I do some exercis and I am very gently and loving ( most of the time) to myself. And that a huge and beautiful step. Thanks for all the knowleadge you share Zina - I soak it all in, bit by bit. 🙏
